My Brob GF Ch 31: A Friends Threat!

I stood in Harper's palm, staring up between her massive fingers at the equally massive face peering down at me from above.

"So, this is Harper's friend?" I said, forcing a somewhat awkward smile.

The woman above me-Dolores, l assumed -tilted her head slightly, her hazel eyes gleaming with playful curiosity. I had to admit, she was stunning. Just as beautiful as Harper, though in a different way. Her glossy lips sparkled faintly in the sunlight, slightly parted as if she were already suppressing a giggle. Her skin, a smooth canvas of pale white, was dotted with countless pores-each one big enough that I was pretty sure I could get lost in them if I were any smaller. And her breath... faintly warm and carrying the scent of cinnamon, like she had just finished some kind of sweet treat before Harper introduced us.

I felt very small.

"Oh wow," Dolores breathed, her voice filled with giddy excitement. "You are adorable!"

I blinked. "Uh..."

"And handsome!" she added with a giggle.

"Really handsome! Oh my gosh, Harper, you didn't tell me he'd be this cute!"

I felt my face heat up. "Wait... you can actually see me?"

Dolores nodded enthusiastically. "Of course! I bought a pair of Lilli contact lenses that enhance my vision tenfold.

Specially designed for Brobs to interact with you little guys properly. Otherwise, I'd just be squinting and guessing."

She leaned in slightly, her massive eyes narrowing as she examined me even closer. "And with these, I can definitely see how handsome you are."

Harper chuckled beside me, clearly amused by my flustered reaction. "Alright, alright, don't make him explode, Dolores."

I cleared my throat and tried to compose myself, but it wasn't easy when a woman the size of a skyscraper was openly fawning over you.

Harper shifted slightly, glancing toward a nearby concession stand. "I'm gonna grab us some drinks. Dolores, mind holding onto Ethan while I'm gone?"

Dolores beamed. "Oh, absolutely!"

I tensed.

Harper, noticing my hesitation, smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, you're in good hands—literally."

Easy for her to say.

Still, I didn't protest as Harper extended her hand over Dolores's open palm, creating a sort of bridge with her fingers. I took a deep breath, trying not to think too much about how high up I was, and started walking across Harper's fingers.

It wasn't easy. Each finger was like a massive, rolling hill beneath me, the soft skin shifting ever so slightly with each of Harper's subtle movements. I forced myself not to look down-not that I could see the ground, anyway. Harper's fingers were too wide for that. But I knew we were miles up, and my imagination was more than willing to fill in the blanks.

After what felt like an eternity (but was probably only a few seconds), I finally made it onto Dolores's palm.

And instantly, I could tell the difference.

Maybe it was because of my size, but I noticed the little imperfections right away. Where Harper's hand was soft and smooth, Dolores's had a rougher texture. The skin was tougher, forming a landscape of small, uneven ridges that created valleys and peaks beneath my feet. There were tiny, hardened calluses dotting her palm, solid as stone, making the ground beneath me much firmer than Harper's.

I crouched down and ran my hand over one of the calluses. It was tough, like hardened leather. Either this woman was a fighter... or she used her hands a lot.

I looked up, and sure enough, Dolores was watching me with an amused smile, her massive face framed by waves of fiery orange hair that cascaded down like an endless curtain.

Harper's voice rumbled above us. "I'll be right back."

Dolores didn't take her eyes off me as she called after her, "Take your time."

I swallowed hard. Oh boy.

(DOLORES)

I brought my hand closer to my face, squinting slightly even with my Lilli-enhancing contact lenses.

Even with these things in, I could barely see the little speck sitting in my palm.

Harper, what the hell are you thinking?

I had to admit, I'd never really understood Harper's taste. She could have any Brob she wanted—men practically tripped over themselves trying to get her attention—but instead, she had feelings for... this? A man so small that I could flick him off my hand with the barest movement? A man I could kill with the lightest pinch of my fingers?

I didn't hate Lillis. Quite the opposite, actually—I'd always been kind of impressed with them. They were survivors, adaptors, making the best out of a world that quite literally wasn't built for them. I respected that. But that didn't mean I thought they should mix with Brobs.

Everything had its place in the world. Lillis had theirs, just like Brobs had theirs. And this? This was just too unnatural.

And yet...

"Uh, Dolores?"

His tiny voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I blinked and refocused on the speck-sized man in my palm. He was looking up at me, brow slightly furrowed, obviously a little unnerved.

"You've just been staring at me for a while," he said, shifting uncomfortably. "Not saying anything."

I tilted my head, then let out a small chuckle. "Oh, sorry. I got lost in thought."

He still looked wary. Smart of him.

I exhaled slowly, letting my smile drop just a little. "You're probably wondering what I was thinking about, huh?"

He didn't respond right away, but I could see the curiosity flicker across his tiny face.

I smirked, but this time it wasn't playful. "I was thinking about how someone like you—a Lilli—managed to score someone like Harper."

Ethan's shoulders tensed.

"I was thinking about how a man—if you can even call yourself that—so small and fragile that I could kill you with two fingers..." I lifted my index and thumb slightly, pinching at the air for emphasis, "...could cause my best friend so much pain."

I felt my jaw tighten as I continued, my voice dropping slightly. "And I was wondering how the hell she even let this happen in the first place."

"What?" Ethan's voice barely registered, but I caught it.

Then I moved my hand.

Just a quick motion—lifting it upwards at a fast pace. But for someone Ethan's size, that must've felt like being launched into the air. He let out a small yelp as he tumbled onto his back, gripping my palm for dear life.

I stopped the motion, letting him regain his balance before I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Don't talk over me."

He swallowed hard.

I let a beat of silence hang between us before I continued. "I'm going to be real with you, Ethan. I don't agree with this relationship. A Lilli and a Brob? It'll never work. And I won't stand by and watch Harper set herself up for heartbreak."

I lifted my free hand, flexing my fingers before slowly curling them into a tight fist. I didn't need to say anything. The meaning was obvious.

"I'm going to do everything in my power to separate you two," I said, my tone calm but firm. "And I swear to god, if you ever hurt her again..." I clenched my fist tighter, the knuckles cracking slightly.

Ethan didn't say anything for a long moment. Then, finally, in a small, measured voice, he said:

"Yes. I understand."

Good.

And just like that, my smile returned, playful and easy, like we hadn't just had a very serious—and very dangerous—conversation.

"Great!" I chirped, relaxing my fingers and giving him a wink. "I knew you were a smart guy."

Comments

Don't play games with her, but she doesn't know his past so maybe she would have understand it and be a bit more opened. But I think Ethan will not hurt Harper again and maybe he and Dolores can be friends when they know more about each other. When he gets her approval. Looking forward to the next part.
