(TATB) Ch 7: Rushing Water, The Way Of Survival

(NEMU)

The ground trembled beneath us with each footstep, the vibrations running up my legs and making my heart pound even harder. I looked up, my breath catching in my throat as disbelief washed over me. A living titan—no, a Brob—was walking towards us. Her massive form loomed, her every step sending shockwaves through the earth beneath our feet.

We shouldn't have been here. I knew that the moment I saw her. Scavenging in an unknown place like this was always a risk, but this? This was one of the worst dangers imaginable. The hunger, the thirst, the not knowing where we were—it all seemed insignificant now compared to the threat towering above us.

The landscape suddenly became clearer as the lights flashed on overhead, and my stomach dropped. This wasn't just some random place. As I looked around, realization dawned on me. I should've figured it out earlier. We weren't in some deserted wasteland—we were somewhere far more dangerous.

A shadow fell over our group, and I froze. I didn't need to look up to know what it was, but I did anyway, unable to stop myself. A massive foot hovered above us, casting us in complete darkness. My eyes widened, taking in every detail of her colossal heel and toes. The sheer scale of it made my knees feel weak.

"We need to get out of here!" Sawyer's panicked voice broke through, and I saw him getting ready to bolt.

"Don't move!" Vu commanded sharply, his eyes locked on the massive foot as it passed over us. We could only watch in terror as the foot crashed into the ground just behind us, the impact so strong it sent us flying.

I slammed into the ground hard, pain shooting through my shoulder as I rolled to a stop. "Dammit," I groaned, rubbing at the spot where I'd hit the ground. My whole body felt rattled.

Pushing myself up, I caught sight of the Brob again. This time, she was turning something. My eyes widened even further as the scene before me clicked into place.

"Vu, we need to leave now!" I shouted, scrambling to my feet, but it was too late.

The thunderous roar of water filled the air, the sound so loud it made my ears ring. A powerful splash hit the white ground around us, water rushing toward us like a tidal wave.

"We're in a bathroom..." I whispered, the horrifying realization settling in. The ground beneath us wasn't just white—it was tiled. This wasn't just some random place; we were in a giant Brob's bathroom. And judging by the deafening torrent of water surging toward us...

I stopped mid-sentence, my eyes glued to the titaness as she nonchalantly began peeling off her clothes. Massive pieces of fabric, each capable of destroying entire cities, fell away, revealing her towering, brown-skinned body. Naked. Her legs, like colossal pillars, carried her forward into the rushing water.

"She's taking a shower," I finished, my voice barely audible over the rushing water. We were so small, so utterly insignificant, as this giant moved without a care for what lay beneath her.

We had to get out of here. Fast.

I walked into the bathroom, ready to wash away the day's sweat. I needed to feel clean, especially before meeting my new Lilliputian friends. The excitement of finally having some of them still buzzed through my veins. The seller might have been a pain, but it was worth every coin.

I stepped to the shower and turned the nozzle, watching the water sputter to life. As the steam began to rise, I stepped back, letting it heat up while I peeled off my clothes, one by one. I let my mind wander to the tiny people I had just bought. The thought of my plans coming together, truly made me feel amazing.

Naked, I stepped into the shower, allowing the hot water to cascade over my body, washing away everything. I smiled, feeling the water pound my shoulders as I thought of how incredible it was going to be, having these people with me.

"Finally, I can get started."

From below, I stared at the chaos unfolding around us. The water poured down like a monstrous river, too strong for any of us to fight. My men and I pushed against it, but the rising tide was getting harder and harder to withstand. The ground quaked beneath my feet—explosive tremors that felt like they were tearing the world apart. I looked up in disbelief. Towering over us, her toes were mighty mountains, her feet, the size of a dozen cities.

There was only one choice left.

"We have to climb her!" I yelled, pointing up at the titan who loomed above us like a god. The sound of her every step created shockwaves that knocked us off our feet. As she shifted, the ground cracked beneath her heels, each movement sending explosions of force in every direction.

This was the only way out. We had to scale the impossible—her body, a living landscape.
