Douglas walked cautiously down the street, feeling the ground vibrate beneath his feet. It was strange—no one else seemed to notice. People went about their day, chatting, shopping, and strolling as if nothing was wrong. But Douglas couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. The pillar of light in the distance flickered in and out of view, yet no one even glanced at it.
He knew he should probably just head home, rest, and forget about it. But his curiosity tugged at him, urging him forward.
"What is that?" he muttered to himself, eyes fixed on the strange light.

As he neared the next block, the shaking suddenly stopped, and the light vanished, leaving the street eerily quiet.
"What?" Douglas gasped, surprised by how quickly it had all ended. He quickened his pace, eager to see what lay beyond the corner, convinced that just a few more steps would reveal everything.
Douglas turned the corner and froze. Standing before him were two girls, one he recognized immediately—Traci. Her face was covered in dirt, and her clothes were ripped, barely hanging onto her body. Beside her stood another girl, one he didn't recognize. She had bright pink hair tied into curly twin tails, and her wide eyes met his with a look of surprise.
"What happened to you guys?" Douglas asked, his voice shaky as he took in their torn, destroyed outfits. But then, his words trailed off as he looked past them.

The entire city block was reduced to nothing but rubble. Buildings that had once stood tall were now crumbled to dust and shattered concrete. Massive chunks of debris lay scattered across the ground, and what had been the street was now just jagged, broken pieces of asphalt, split open in chaotic patterns. Trees were uprooted, their branches crushed beneath piles of wreckage.
Windows from the surrounding buildings had all blown out, leaving shattered glass scattered everywhere like glistening shards of ice. Cars were overturned, some crushed completely under large chunks of fallen structures. Streetlights were bent and broken, their poles lying twisted among the wreckage.
It looked as though a hurricane had passed through, but instead of wind, it was raw, unimaginable force that had left the place in ruins. Smoke and dust hung in the air, creating a heavy fog that made it hard to see more than a few feet ahead.
"What happened to the...?" Douglas started to ask, his voice trailing off as the sheer scale of the destruction sunk in. His heart pounded in his chest as he looked at Traci and the pink-haired girl, waiting for an explanation.
Traci brushed some dirt off her shoulder, looking a bit flustered. "I... I'm not sure," she said with a small, awkward smile. "Everything started shaking and falling apart."

Douglas blinked in surprise, watching her laugh as if it were no big deal. "Is that right..." he muttered, still taking in the chaotic scene behind her.
Stepping closer, he tilted his head down, staring at her with concern. "W-well, are you okay?" he asked, his voice softening as he looked into her eyes.
Traci looked up at him, her cheeks growing warm, and a faint blush spread across her face. "Um... I'm fine," she replied, quickly looking away to hide her flustered expression.
Neither of them noticed Agent 10, who was quietly watching them with a small smirk playing on her lips.
"Hey, Traci," Agent 10 chimed in with a playful tone. "Aren't you going to introduce me to your handsome friend?"
Traci turned to Agent 10, and Douglas noticed a flicker of irritation in her eyes. "Douglas, this is... an acquaintance of mine," Traci said, clearly trying to keep it casual.
"Acquaintance?" Agent 10 grinned as she threw an arm around Traci's shoulder. "She means best friend!" she said with exaggerated cheerfulness.
Douglas couldn't help but chuckle at their interaction. "Nice to meet you," Agent 10 continued, extending her hand. "The name's Lilith." She winked at him. "Pleasure's all mine."

Douglas shook Lilith's hand, smiling. "Nice to meet you."
Traci smirked awkwardly, trying to avoid looking directly at him.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Um, well... I don't really know where to look. Your clothes are pretty ripped."

Traci and Lilith glanced down, realizing their situation. Traci let out a small scream and quickly covered her body with her hands. Lilith, on the other hand, struck a teasing pose, a sly smile crossing her face.
"Like what you see?" Lilith asked playfully.
Douglas blushed, turning away quickly. "Come on, I live close. I'll let you borrow some clothes," he said, walking away with his face still red.
Lilith watched him leave, her eyes twinkling with amusement. "What an interesting fellow," she mused. "You know, he almost reminds me of..."
"Don't." Traci interrupted sharply. "Don't say another word," she said, her gaze also following Douglas as he led the way.
