The Prodigan Woman Ch 13: Resolve And Doubts.

She looked at it with troubled eyes, knowing it held the tiny Lilliputian boy she had promised to take care of. The same boy she had tormented all his life, who hated her with a passion she had never seen before—a hatred she knew she deserved.
She had made a promise to herself: she would take care of this boy, no matter how long it took. She remembered the words of the judges clearly.
"Three years," she whispered to herself, her eyes shining with determination.
As strange as this situation was, her fate was now in the hands of a small Lilliputian boy, as tiny as a germ to her.

But one question echoed deep in her mind: Was this even possible?
Could she protect someone who could be blown to bits by her breath, who could spend all day hiking from one end of her big toe to the other and still not reach the end? Who could be swept away by her slightest movement?
Prodigans never interacted with Lilliputians; that had always been the way. Prodigans were just too big, and Lilliputians were just too small for any real interaction. That's why Prodigans were forbidden from entering Lilliputian and Gulliverian lands—a rule all Prodigans followed, including Molly, who had never set foot in those lands.
Molly's heart raced as she thought about the promise she had made to the tiny boy now trapped in the pendant around her neck. The Enforcer car's gentle humming did little to soothe her troubled mind. The weight of the responsibility she carried felt heavier with each passing moment.
For she knew that whatever happened to the boy would reflect horribly on her judgment, and if the boy were to die, God forbid, her fate would be sealed.
"I will make this work," she thought to herself.

The car soon came to a stop. The officer in the front seat turned and gave Molly a stern look. "Get out," he said, unlocking the door.
Molly obeyed, slowly stepping out of the car. Before her stood a huge house, far grander than her former apartment. The enforcer, dressed in his dark blue and white uniform, followed her out.
"This is your new home for the time being," he said. "You'll find everything you need inside to accommodate your... unique situation."
He explained that it was a special facility designed to help Prodigans with tasks that required meticulous care and precision for handling beings as small as Lilliputians.
Molly let out a long sigh, feeling a bit of comfort. She knew she would need all the resources and guidance she could get if she was determined to keep the little Lilliputian alive.
"You'll need these," the enforcer said, handing Molly two small black earpieces. "And these," he added, extending his other hand, which held a small black container.

He gestured to the earpieces. "These will help you hear even the tiniest sounds, including those of a Lilliputian. They shouldn't be much trouble for you."
Then he pointed to the small black container. "These contain contact lenses that will allow you to see even Microputians in all their detail."
Molly took the items, feeling a mix of apprehension and determination. She carefully placed the earpieces in and put in the contact lenses. The world around her sharpened, and she could hear even the faintest sounds.
"Thank you," Molly said with a small smile.
"Ms. Adams, I am also required to inform you that you are forbidden from leaving the country under any circumstances. Is that understood?" the enforcer asked.
"Yes," Molly replied.
"Do you fully understand your assignment and the gravity of the consequences if you fail?" he pressed.

"Yes, I do," Molly said firmly.
"Very well," the enforcer said, giving Molly a small salute. "Good luck, Ms. Adams." He then got back into his car and drove away.
Molly watched the car disappear down the driveway before turning to face her new home.
Molly took a deep breath and stepped forward, entering the grande house that was now hers. As she walked through the foyer, her senses were overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the place.
The high ceilings, and grand staircase reminded her of just how different life was going to be from now on. Their was only one problem the whole house was empty with no furniture, no tables, only a refrigerator which was in the kitchen was available.
The thought of the tiny boy within the pendant hanging around her neck weighed heavily on her mind. She placed a hand over it protectively, feeling its slight warmth against her skin.
"Home sweet home," Molly said as she stepped into the living room and sat down on the floor. Carefully, she took the pendant off her neck.
She gently removed the lid and placed the small pendant on the floor. Sitting cross-legged, she looked down at the tiny pink pendant.
"Please come out," she said softly, knowing the earpiece would also soften her own voice. "I think we should talk."

After a moment, the tiny figure of Travis emerged from the pendant. He stood there, arms crossed, his eyes filled with a mixture of wariness and defiance.
Molly took a deep breath. "Yea this isn't going to be easy." She thought to herself.
