2025-02-08 18:01:40 +0000 UTCi feel like some people expect donna to be all silly and jokey bc catherine tate is a comedian, but her emotional acting is incredible. like you feel so much for what donna goes through here, and i think its amazing how much chemistry ten and donna build as friends in just one episode. incredible tardis team, and personally i especially love that they're a platonic duo! the romances in the show are sweet and can be interesting but i do love when companions on the show are just besties with the doctor, and with donna especially i think her and the doctor being solely platonic actually makes the two of them feel closer in a way? i feel like she's able to be real with him and tell him the truth in a way that some of the other people he travels with aren't, because she sees him as just a friend and isn't blinkered by being head over heels for him. can you tell i'm obsessed with this episode lol 😅

It's better getting to watch it all at once rather than waiting ages. - "Is Nerys the one that gave that look?" - bingo - "Get me to the church!" - Do you have that song in the US, "Get me to the church on time"? - "Sell the tape to You've Been Framed" - that's the UK equivalent of America's Funniest Home Videos. - You've probably picked up on the pattern that anything from early on in the universe's lifetime is baaaad. They make it sound like a real Dark Forest scenario. - Segways were a new thing back then. - Am I the only one who thinks the Racnoss Queen is quite... alluring? I feel we have very different senses of humour though.

2025-02-08 16:26:12 +0000 UTCActually, when Donna said "You can stop now!", it was less to save the Racnoss and more to save the Doctor himself, who was just standing there watching as the room they were in was flooded. He didn't think to save himself until she reminded him. I won't say why, but that is an important detail to remember.

But then they brought her on again for David's final season. I don't think this is really a spoiler since you're already aware of Cathrine Tate but yeah!
