Everyday~ Good Omens Post Reaction Thoughts

I finally was able to process the last episode of Good Omens. Here are my thoughts about THE Crowley and Aziraphale scene.

Comments

Lmao its totally fine! I like hearing peoples thoughts through the videos and how they feel during it

I'm also sure that Aziraphale kept glancing out the window at the Metatron, but your reaction makes me think about it more. "I don't think you understand what I'm offering you". Was that Aziraphale's way of saying to Crowley "There is something going on that I cannot tell you, please read between the lines"? EDIT: I should really stop writing comments before watching the whole video, because OF COURSE you were getting to that.

Also he(metatron) likely offered to azi to bring Crowley because he knew azi didn't want to go back so hey u can bring him too and (specifically)make him an angel again whilst knowing that Crowley doesn't want to go back causing them to split

I loved your analysis. Also, it made me realize how much I missed

OMG I never thought about that but it makes perfect sense!

I thought the Metatron's musing "nobody ever chooses death; typical" probably says a lot about how often he has offered someone "do as I say ... or death."

Two unrelated thoughts - first, I was so moved by watching The Scene when the tears came first to Crowley's eyes, and then Aziraphale's - fine acting, David and Michael. I have just been meditating on "Give Me Coffee or Give Me Death". We know how powerful Crowley and Aziraphale are when they act together - they would be a potent threat to heaven. Bear with me here ... in some folkloric traditions, accepting food or drink from a supernatural being can put one under their power. Could it be that the coffee that the Metatron offered was more than it seemed, and that its purpose was to split Azi from Crowley? And therefore, if Azi had not accepted it, the only other alternative would have been for the Metatron to destroy our boys?

It's interesting that you mention unreliable narrators, because we never see the actual conversation with the Metatron. We see Aziraphale's *description* of the conversation. I am in the camp that believes the Metatron threatened Crowley somehow. E.g., "you can reinstate Crowley as an angel OR he can bugger off, but we won't let you stay with him as-is." Because like all toxic abusers his first goal is to separate his victim from his support system.

Goodness how has it been 3 weeks. Can’t wait to hear your thoughts!
