Current Status Report20251129

Hi, This is muchi.

This week’s report is coming to you from Hong Kong—I’m here on a trip from Japan right now.

The strange thing is, the one-way ticket was actually cheaper than a full-price eroge with a first-press bonus. Being able to cross a national border within East Asia for less than a fancy limited-edition sex game feels kind of surreal.

This is my first time in Hong Kong. Up until now, my image of the city mostly came from old Hong Kong movies—but seeing that exact kind of scenery still alive here in real life is really moving.

If I had to sum it up in one phrase, it feels like “living at the bottom of a valley” all the time. That’s how overwhelming the height and density of the buildings are. The crowds are impressive too. At the same time, compared with some other Asian countries, there seem to be fewer cars and motorbikes, which is oddly reassuring.

Where I live in Japan, people are notorious for aggressive driving and frequent traffic accidents. We’re often teased by people from other regions because of it. The area is home to a certain giant car manufacturer, so maybe cars just hold unusually high status there. In any case, I get the impression that a lot of people turn into different creatures once they’re behind the wheel. As for me, I know my attention span isn’t the best, so I’ve never even gotten a driver’s license. That might honestly be the number one reason I’m still alive and unharmed…

Anyway, my first impression of Hong Kong is this: the sheer determination to keep building higher and higher towers makes me feel a deep sense of sympathy and respect—as someone who is equally committed to making boobs and butts bigger and bigger in our work!

Absolutely—that’s so true. But I think drivers here are under a lot of stress because, unlike in the U.S., there aren’t many places where you can drive in a relaxed, open way.

I was very surprised to learn how dependent on cars you need to be in Japan outside of major cities like Osaka and Tokyo. I feel like you're right, people do transform into different creatures when put behind the wheel. Especially in the US where there's those very large pickup trucks.

I hope in your next work, the boobs are three times as big as Neneko and Kyaru combined.
