Black Friday has descended upon us again.
As someone who really loves getting a good deal, this is an important season for me—but every year I end up thinking, “Isn’t not buying it actually the best bargain of all?” and roasting myself over it. At this point I can only laugh at how I never learn.
One thing I keep coming back to: those “huge sale!!” tricks where they jack up the original price and then slap on a big coupon or “massive discount” banner to make it look like a steal. That kind of thing is pure evil. I’d say it’s a common enemy of all humankind and should be wiped out without mercy. And yet, judging by how often we still see it, I guess it must work pretty well…
There are tools you can use to check price history and all that, but I also understand the urge to just give in to the hype and impulse-buy…!
As for our books, we would never resort to that kind of sales tactic… right!?

Yeah, it’s really taken hold here now! It’s such a classic tactic, but for a moment I still can’t help thinking, “Whoa, that’s cheap!” I end up spending so much time researching just to do a bit of shopping lol.
