when it rains, it pours

hey guys uhhh i just wanna give you a heads up

to start with the good news, my close family member, all things considered, is better than they could have been. knowing that, this family member was in a serious motorcycle accident very recently. not doing great, but alive. they're conscious, talking, faculties seem as they should be, their doctors are very kind, and they are on significant amounts of painkillers, which is a start i'll certainly take!

i have some backup content i've been recording but its probably going to go straight to youtube right now rather than go here for early access, my bandwidth is going to be low and i just need to post in as easy a way as possible. if you'd prefer not to support on patreon right now because of that, please know i fully understand, plus money is tight for everyone, i get it!

i'm okay mentally, handling things right now, they'll be okay physically, doing as well as they can given the situation.

i'd ask no DMs regarding sympathies for the situation, though the sentiment and comments/likes of support are well appreciated!! it's only that I'm dealing with a lot of texts and messages and the like already, and I'd just like to limit that as much as possible for now!

a point to motorcycle owners about gear- my family member had armored leather gear, chaps, an armored jacket, gloves, and a good quality helmet, etc. if you ride and do not have these things, i would urge you to literally stay off of your bike until you have a full set of protective gear, as expensive as it all is. the accident that happened was truly an unavoidable situation that appeared entirely safe until a moment of circumstances changing immediately, and that gear is the only reason they are alive. my family member would have been the second motorcycle death in my small town in the past some weeks.

they have multiple broken bones and nearly no scratches or scrapes outside of a very few places that were exposed; those places will require surgery, as would their entire body without that gear, assuming they were still left for surgery to be a possibility.

idk, probably nobody cares or wants to hear me preach about this, but hopefully you understand why i feel the need to say it.
