them geograft ears are being very difficult.  i have solved some issues with more bones and loops cuts around the ear base but still....those extreme rotations make it look weird

...hmmmm... have you tried googling "dog hear muscle"? There's a lot of anatomy drawings there which might help you work out better how those ears work and how to position the "bones" of the 3d model. Mostly because by looking at them and at your model i think some of the "bones" will need to get inside the skull and outside the visible model to make it work properly. Yes, it does sound weird, and no, i don't know much about 3d modeling. But i do know geometry and modular transposition. If the bones can go outside the visible model, in this case the pivot points could work better. 🤔

exactly. but these are being set up for my anthro heads. if you look at all my older models there is a lot of "stretching" where i morph the ears. i take the human ear and mold it up to the anthro. that method causes a lot of problems for daz products so i am making grafts that won't interfere with other daz products like hair addons and hats. right now i am focusing on getting the ears to work on the base head before i tackle the morph

Hmmmm...for ears like this to be added to a human-like head, they should be closer to where the human ears are ...like just above or do something to reshape the human head.
