Hi friends, how's it going? After some consideration, I switched back to 2D for Nights of Temptation, or "NoT" for short. I'm very glad I did it because I've been making progress at a good pace ever since. Here's what I've done so far:
1. Finalized the design of some of our characters. Our artist wasn't immediately available, so the commissions are not finished just yet, but I've attached some of the early iterations for you to see. That being said, there should be much more art that I can share by the end of this month.
The first one is our new main character, his name is Jack, hope he reminds you of someone from Horror Mansion.
The second one is a priestess from Jack's local temple, she's here to help (maybe??).
The third character is one of the ghosts that haunt Jack's home, they won't let Jack sleep at night, how terrible! There'll be a couple of other ghosts and maybe even other types of evil entities down the line, please look forward to them.
2. Commissioned some h scenes, but this time the artist has some animation experience, and we have the budget, so we should be able to make smoother animated scenes (fingers crossed, worst case scenario I delegate the animations to other people).
3. Finally, on the coding side of things, I've pretty much already set up 70~80% of the framework for the entire game, just need to finish up a few things and fill in the content. I'm also figuring out ways to make the visuals of the VN aspects of the game look better than in Horror Mansion. At this rate, we should have something playable by the end of Feb or Mar, depending on how soon the commissions get done.
