I agree, something that came up though is that it's really difficult to get accurate sources from China, because the CCP distorts everything. I believe that was mentioned. Still it's pretty obvious they have a strong bias against China, so in absence of those accurate sources they seemed to assess things negatively. I felt that most when the question of the future of China was answered. Stringing together a bunch of examples of things you see as huge failures isn't exactly an objective macro economic forecast. Still it was a great podcast and they definetly has a lot interesting perspectives to share.

Great podcast! Dunno if you guys read this but one thing that popped up for me while listening was when they were “correcting” your beliefs on chinese propaganda about the achievements (like the roads thing etc..) is that they were lacking any source to begin with. Without any ill intent, i don’t see how they would know anything more about how succesful the chinese government is on their endeavours and achievements without any proof. Basically: just because i live in europe, that doesn’t mean i have a first hand knowledge of if my government succeeds in building x-road or developping x-weapon. How do two travelling people in china get authority on the topic? I wish you could’ve gone more into that. Especially when the whole topic is credibility and authenticity. Cheers!
