Check In 01/20/21

Hi all, hope you're doing well.

It's been a busy week here, renders are chugging along nicely. I'm still reticent to give an exact date, as every time I do I always end up needing extra days. For now we'll just give a general projection of 2-3 weeks. I'd like it out by the end of the month, but given the expected size of the update I'm probably pushing it. The new renders setup has given me more render power, but also made it so I'm more willing to spend time improving them. I've found a decent balance between quality and speed though, and I hope you'll be able to see just those little differences.

Update news aside I want to discuss somethings that have come up recently in discussion with people. Some are sad to see Author ending, and feel like there is much more to be told.  I don't disagree with this sentiment. Long time patrons will know that I've been very open from the start that I wanted the Author to be a short form experience, and a way for me to learn and grow as a creator, I feel I've accomplished this over the past year.

However the problem with crafting characters that people love is that they snuggle into peoples hearts and it's hard to let them go.  So now even though it's a little earlier than I was planning I can reveal to you that the characters you love aren't going away completely. 

As I move into the next game I plan on taking a little more time on the updates for it, not much longer, but I feel like if I take a few extra weeks with each it will give me more time to learn and hone my craft. My goal over the next year is to give you guys the best possible experience I can muster as a creator, and taking just that little extra bit of time to hone my art/animations, coding and so on will be a great improvement for everybody.

I don't want to leave people without content however, and now that I have the hardware for it I plan on releasing frequent bonus episodes that allow you to spend more time with characters you've grown to know, love and in some ways hate.  Episode stars will be voted on by patrons, and the goal will be to keep your lovely girls in your life longer as well as allow me to keep providing you content that digs more into the characters you've grown to love.  It also gives me time to improve each new update. 

Now I'm still working out the exact details for these episodes. And I don't plan on starting until I release the first update of Unbroken, but over the next month or so I'm going to be chatting with patrons and others as I try to work out a good schedule, tier ect so I can make sure that the game still receives top priority.

Sorry for the word vomit, but I just figured I would let you know a little of what's happening behind the scenes as I work into game transition time. This is still all in the planning stage and Author is of course the main priority.  Thank you all for your support, as we move into the future I shall continue to work my hardest to be worthy of it.
