The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 2)

Again, I get that Jacob imprinting on a baby is creepy but it's an INVOLUNTARY response in which a wolf finds his soulmate. It is something that is beyond his control and the one he imprints on is actually the one in control. He will become WHATEVER SHE NEEDS him to be, whether that's a brother, a friend or a lover but above all, he is her protector. Should the imprintee be an infant, the shape-shifter will act as an older brother; romantic feelings will not develop until she comes of age (if they do). In that moment it's NOT in a romantic way. Later, however, it may become romantic. In this situation, Jacob was going to KILL Renesmee - until he imprinted on her. And because of the pact, the wolves can't hurt her. So, as messed up as it is, at least this way she is ALIVE and PROTECTED. That being said, I feel like that ending with Jacob and Renesmee was kind of cheap. Maybe it's just my biased opinion but I do feel like Stephanie Meyer did Jacob dirty in the later books (because apparently she didn't like that people were rooting for him and Bella instead of Edward and Bella). Bella's "You nicknamed my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?!" is an iconic line 🤣 This is the best movie in the series in my opinion. Edward was less creepy and Bella was pretty badass (and definitely not as annoying) as a vampire but I never really cared for them or their love story, even by the end. I wasn't as into these books/movies as many others but I still choked up a bit at the end when they showed everyone in the credits. Charlie was the best. His girlfriend is Sue Clearwater, widow of Harry (Charlie's friend who died from a heart attack in New Moon) and mother of Leah and Seth. I'm glad Charlie got a happy ending and I understand they were protecting him but I still wish they would have told him the truth. Also, the dude who said "Finally" is Marcus. He didn't kill Vladimir and Stefan, they killed him by ripping his arms off. I assumed he just hated being "alive" and wanted to die. Apparently in the books they explain he was lonely without his mate and wife, Didyme (Aro's sister) who was killed by her brother when she and Marcus attempted to leave the Volturi. Fun facts: In the book there was indeed NO fight scene, real or a vision. They literally just talked and then the Volturi left. So for people who had read the book or knew how it went it was a complete shock. Watching this in theatres was CRAZY. People screamed and cried. First when Carlisle was killed, then Jasper, Seth and Leah. And when it turned out to be Alice's vision it was such a WTF moment. Personally I was glad because I was so mad they killed them, but I understand how it may be frustrating to some people to have an easy way out and not go through with killing any of the main characters (besides the villains). The CGI baby is notoriously bad, but if you think that looks awful you ain't seen nothing yet! Originally they had an animatronic which they called Chuckesmee because it resembled Chucky. It TERRIFIED the actors on set and I understand why. Here is a BTS on it: https://youtu.be/7jOuy-HOcg8?si=9CdDEJYNkZ6LuTQw. The visual effects team used over 30 real babies using the Lola projection rig, the same tech that is used to help find missing children, to age Mackenzie Foy (Renesmee). Her face and expressions were digitally placed on the bodies of 10 other actresses playing Renesmee through the various stages of her life. Images of Kristen Stewart were also used so the baby would resemble her, especially her eyes. Christie Burke portrayed a teenage/adult Renesmee. Before either parts of Breaking Dawn were green lit, Mackenzie Foy was a fan favorite to play the part of Renesmee for several years prior. To protect her on the set, director Bill Condon had set up a swear jar where any cast and crew members caught swearing were fined on the spot (don't know who swore the most but my money is on Kristen lol). The amount collected from the jar was donated to St. Jude's Children Hospital. Breaking Dawn Part 1 and 2 were shot back-to-back as one whole movie. The first scenes shot were the honeymoon scenes in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The last scenes shot were the wedding scenes (more specifically Jacob and Bella's scene at the wedding). When Bella meets the Cullens as a vampire for the first time, she is wearing a blue dress. All the other women in the family are also wearing blue at this time. This shows that Bella is now truly one of them. During the montage of Renesmee's rapid growth, a baseball glove is seen on the shelf behind her. This is a nod to Bella and the Cullens playing baseball in the first movie. Jacob insulting Vladimir and Stefan isn't just a cheap vampire dig. They are Romanian, so his reference of Dracula makes sense. If Alice and Jasper hadn't been in the way in the battle vision, Benjamin likely could have dropped the entire Volturi into a lava filled pit. The inscription inside the locket Bella gives to Renesmee "Plus que ma propre vie" is French for "More than my own life". Maggie Grace (Irina) played Ian Somerhalder's stepsister on LOST. Ian played a vampire on The Vampire Diaries AND he is married to Nikki Reed who plays Rosalie in Twilight. And Maggie also played Liam Neeson's daughter in Taken. Rami Malek, who plays Benjamin (the guy who can control the elements of nature), played Freddie Mercury in Bohemian Rhapsody (for which he won an Oscar), along with being in the series Mr. Robot. Lee Pace (Garrett) also played Thranduil (Legolas' father) in The Hobbit triology. Dakota Fanning has only one word in the movie: "Pain". In real life, Jackson Rathbone (Jasper) became a father between Part 1 & 2. Nikki Reed (Rosalie) is his son's godmother. The song playing at the end when Bella is showing Edward her memories (and into the credits) is A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, which is Bella and Edward's love song.
