2024-07-29 23:51:01 +0000 UTCI'm very glad that there is another sequel after Ghostbusters Afterlife and this is a great movie! Fun fact: Gil Kenan (director of Ghostbusters Frozen Empire) said that this film actually took inspiration from The Real Ghostbusters animated series from the '80s. At the beginning of this movie, Ghost Corps is a company owned by Columbia Pictures Industries, Inc. formed in March 2015 to focus on expanding the Ghostbusters brand with live-action feature films, animated motion pictures, television, merchandise and other new entertainment products. There will be new Ghostbusters animated series which is in development at Netflix and this series will be made from Sony Pictures Animation, with Jason Reitman and Gil Kenan of Ghost Corps, Inc. onboard as executive producers. The best part is that this movie showed Ray Parker Jr. (creator of the Ghostbusters theme song) dancing with the original cast on television news at the beginning. I'm glad that this story takes place in New York City while the whole family is doing their full time job as Ghostbusters busting ghosts. It's very cool to see new ghost busting gadgets such as the ghost traps drones that fly in order to catch the Sewer Dragon. I'm surprised that Walter Peck is the new mayor of New York City and I remembered he worked for EPA (Environmental Protective Agency) in the first movie. I'm glad to see the whole cast, the original cast, Slimer, and Eleanor Twitty also known as The Library Ghost are back. Still sad about Harold Ramis that he passed away and very sad to hear that Ivan Rietman (original Ghostbusters director) passed away two years ago. The Paranormal Research Center looks so awesome that there are special enclosures that prevents the ghosts from escaping and a technology that can make ghosts get pulled out of the items. The skeleton face ghost named Bonesy looks quite scary. The small ghost with a round body and stubby limbs which it pukes and is named Pukey. Pukey looks like a Mr. Potato Head doll. Hahaha! The Possessor is a very interesting ghost that it moves from object to object as a red light and possesses any inanimate objects. Garraka uses the Possessor more than most of the ghosts because of its usefulness. It nearly succeeds in animating a recording of the chant Garraka needs to free himself. Kumail Nanjiani as Nadeem is super funny and he's like Pyro (a mutant from X-Men) who only controls fire but doesn't produce fire. Fire benders from Avatar The Last Airbender can produce and control fire. I remembered him that he played as Kingo from MCU's Eternals. Glad to see Patton Oswalt from Agents of SHIELD and he's also the voice of Remy from Ratatouille, best Pixar film. The new ghost villain Garraka is very terrifying and I'm surprised that he can actually freeze proton streams. I'm really glad that Lucky survived from being frozen. About Melody, it was a very sad story that she died in a house fire that she accidentally caused. The fire killed her entire family, but due to the guilt she felt, she couldn't move on with them. Melody is very skilled at chess. I was shocked that Melody was working with Garraka because he promises to help her move on. But later, Melody lit the match to help Nadeem to stop Garraka which I'm so glad and Nadeem took control of the flame and blasted Garraka. While Phoebe and her family fires the proton stream, the Ghostbusters finally trapped Garraka with the containment unit. Melody vanishes and she was finally free. There's a comic book series called Ghostbusters: Back in Town, published by Dark Horse Comics. This comic series is set between the events of Ghostbusters Afterlife and Ghostbusters Frozen Empire.
