📣🎥Wild Card POLL-Special Edition🎉🎬
Added 2021-07-26 16:00:08 +0000 UTCWelcome to the WILD CARD POLL- Special Edition!!!
Storm is doing great in her recovery from her surgery on June 30th but she still needs a little more time, so don't worry OUR REGULAR POLLS WILL RETURN once Storm has healed enough.
This POLL will be a lot shorter to help some of the struggling movies from both Animated and Live Action categories. We may alter this POLL in the future since we have so many different ideas as to what a Wild Card POLL should consist of. We want to keep this fun and fair for everyone here. So please bare with us as we learn together what works best.
Please keep in mind that most requested movies we are blind to. We don't know exactly what genre or how popular most movies are and rely on your comments to help guide us. We go by requests that you all make, popular and rare...which this POLL is meant for just the struggling requests that need a helping hand.
Our main POLL before had popular and rare requests on there. Some lasted longer on the POLLS to give them a fighting chance, not because they were popular. Some of those struggling requests may move over to this POLL over time.
Thank you for all and happy voting!

2021-07-29 15:29:24 +0000 UTCI'm trying something different this time, adding a little more context. "Sunshine" (2007) Directed by Danny Boyle, Written by Alex Garland: Sunshine is a Science Fiction Thriller. Boyle has also Directed, "28 Days Later" (2002) & "Slumdog Millionaire" (2008). Fun Fact: During the process of Production, the Actors had to live together in order to create a believable onscreen experience that they knew each other. "Inside Man" (2006) Directed by Spike Lee, Written by Russell Gewirtz: Inside Man is a Mystery Crime Drama. Lee has also Directed Movies like, "Malcolm X" (1992) & "Do the Right Thing" (1989). Fun Fact: Apparently, Lee met William Dafoe in the restroom when they both attended the same Play, 'Julius Caesar', that ironically, Denzel Washington starred in. Spike said: "We should work together" and Dafoe replied: "Yeah, Spike, we should". After that, Spike sent him the script. "Attack the Block" (2011) Written & Directed by Joe Cornish: Attack the Block is a Science Fiction Thriller. Cornish also Directed "The Kid Who Would Be King" (2019), and helped Write Movies like, "Ant-Man" (2015) & "The Adventures of Tintin" (2011). Fun Fact: While Cornish was researching, he asked diverse groups of kids what kind of weapons they'd use, if an invasion were to happen. Many of the talks went straight into the Movie. "The Greatest Game Ever Played" (2005) Directed by Bill Paxton, Written by Mark Frost [based on their Novel of the same name]: The Greatest Game Ever Played is a Biography [Biopic] Sports Drama. Paxton is more influential as an Actor than a Director; he's starred in many Movies like, "Aliens" (1986), "Apollo 13" (1995), "Spy Kids 2: Island of Lost Dreams" (2002), "Thunderbirds" (2004), "Edge of Tomorrow" (2014), "Titanic" (1997) & "Twister" (1996). Fun Fact: The Production Crew shot on-location at a real Golf Club outside Montreal, Quebec. They had a white Clubhouse painted yellow for the Movie; the folks over there liked it so much, they kept it after they were done. "Trouble with the Curve" (2012) Directed by Robert Lorenz, Written by Randy Brown: Trouble with the Curve is a Sports Drama. This is Lorenz's Directorial Debut and has worked on Movies like "Million Dollar Baby" (2004), which ironically, is Directed by Clint Eastwood who stars in this Movie. Fun Fact: Through the persistent efforts of the Crew, they got Eastwood to come out of Acting retirement to be in this Movie. Before this, he was in "Gran Torino" (2008), which he also Directed. Obviously this changed once he did "The Mule" (2018).

2021-07-28 21:32:01 +0000 UTCI agree that it has become really stale, but these ladies are different cause they are one of the few authentic reactions you can find, and this film has been requested a crazy amount of times for well over a year!! haha and that was before everyone was jumping on the bandwagon :( So, while I agree that I would like to see some underrated stuff, this is still going to be fun :)
Anne
2021-07-28 00:19:54 +0000 UTCDefinitely not trying to offend or hurt anyone but I'm honestly tired of the exact same couple of movies being requested and reacted to on virtually every reaction channel. It becomes really stale. I join to not only rewatch movies together with other people but to also be exposed to and watch other types of movies I'd never have watched. But instead it's always the same movies being requested everywhere lol come on people, request other things. There are millions of other interesting films out there.

2021-07-27 22:00:56 +0000 UTCThis is an early suggestion, but I believe it's time the Akima Ladies react to OUTBREAK, an important medical film for them to watch now that it's become more eerily relevant.

2021-07-27 09:44:21 +0000 UTCYes, definitely Outbreak, I'd love to see them react to that film, I could see them getting goosebumps from it.

2021-07-27 09:43:02 +0000 UTCI'm a fan of The Green Mile, although I understand the criticism, I don't think that is the message you're supposed to take from it. It is a film with multiple emotional, humorous, and thought provoking moments with strong performances. Movie Requests: True Lies Outbreak Dante's Peak Con Air As Good As It Gets

2021-07-27 02:30:03 +0000 UTCSpike Lee's interview in Cineaste is the best response to this dumb movie, but since it has spoilers, I won't paste it here. It is easy enough to find with a simple online search for "Spike Lee Green Mile."

2021-07-26 22:08:04 +0000 UTCI'm not responding to this thread. But if anyone actually genuinely wants to know why The Green Mile offends many black people, here is a summary from wikipedia. There are also many articles written which you can find: The Magical Negro is a trope in cinema, television, and film: the character is typically, but not always, "in some way outwardly or inwardly disabled, either by discrimination, disability or social constraint." The Negro is often a janitor or prisoner.[7] The character often has no past but simply appears one day to help the white protagonist.[8][9] He or she usually has some sort of magical power, "rather vaguely defined but not the sort of thing one typically encounters."[8] The character is patient and wise, often dispensing various words of wisdom, and is "closer to the earth".[6] The character will also do almost anything, including sacrificing him or herself, to save the white protagonist, as exemplified in The Defiant Ones, in which Sidney Poitier plays the prototypical Magical Negro.[6] Film critic Matt Zoller Seitz stated that the trope "takes a subject that some white folks find unpleasant or even troubling to ponder (justifiably resentful black people's status in a country that, 50 years after the start of the modern civil rights struggle, is still run by, and mostly for, whites) and turns it into a source of gentle reassurance".[10] Film reviewer Audrey Colombe argues that the trope has been perpetuated by the overwhelmingly White blockbuster film industry.[11] Acclaimed film director and writer, Spike Lee, said that the White-dominated film industry is "still doing the same old thing ... recycling the noble savage and the happy slave."

2021-07-26 21:44:41 +0000 UTCYou got this, Green Mile!!!! ^o^

2021-07-26 20:12:41 +0000 UTCI've seen you complain about this before. What is racist about it? You mean the characters who are racist who are IN the movie, and the movie wants us to dislike them? It takes place in the south before the civil rights movement. Of course there is going to be racism.

2021-07-26 20:12:41 +0000 UTCOh God, anything but The Green Mile. I have no idea why people seem to like this racist-ass movie.

2021-07-26 20:04:52 +0000 UTCGreen Mile has BEEN needing that reaction 🤗

2021-07-26 19:43:43 +0000 UTCAnother Poll in which the choices don't interest me. In the future, we should stick to Movies that have already released; it frees up space for real struggling Cinema.

2021-07-26 16:33:26 +0000 UTCGlad to see Storm is getting better 🙏 It would be great if you finish off the remaining DC movies in order. There’s Shazam, WW84, Birds of Prey and then the new Suicide Squad movie
2021-07-26 16:13:58 +0000 UTCI would give anything for them to watch green mile.
Armchair Wizard
2021-07-26 16:07:45 +0000 UTCStorm Akima, I recommend you watch "Interview with the Vampire" 1994. Please place this on your list. It's a great movie.

2021-07-26 16:07:16 +0000 UTCI doubt the chronology of it all really matters, but I think you should probably watch Shazam before watching The Suicide Squad. Wonder Woman 1984 is set in the 80's so it doesn't really matter when you watch it.
2021-07-26 16:06:34 +0000 UTCTremors, True Lies, and Crimson Tide for the next Wild card poll
