Movie POLL- VOTE on what we will watch soon!
Added 2020-06-30 01:13:57 +0000 UTCHi everyone and welcome back! I have been going through a lot of messages and love your ideas to help us be better! We have tried smaller POLLS in the past, but usually they don't do well.. but let's try it again a different way! This POLL will be less popular requested movies. I'm going to keep the max to 10 so the choices aren't overwhelming. Maybe every other POLL will be less popular, then the next will be most popular. I let Mom and Kim choose a random of their choice too if we have time to watch 2 movies weekly.. so that can be anything! I wanted to give them freedom of choice too if they have interest in something :)
You can only VOTE once during this POLL which ends later in the week. This is a new style we are trying and are open minded to changes. I'm trying to figure out a fair and easy way to add another tier where viewers can donate to have a higher vote on certain movies too or can vote on a separate POLL or something...
All of you made so many great requests! I've been trying to find all of them! Wow! This one I put a random selection of requests. Leave more in the comments! :D
If your request didn't make it in (we have hundreds), please be patient and feel free to request it again in the comments below this. POLL voting is the best place to make requests :) Also, please give us time to watch the movie, edit and upload which can take up to a week after the POLL ends. Thanks all!
Happy Voting! xoxo

Top Gun makes sense because the new one comes out at the end of the year.

2020-07-02 02:38:14 +0000 UTCI shared a list of some great patriotic films to watch for this 4th of July holiday over on the community tab! Some of which have already been reacted to by the Storm Akima crew.

2020-07-01 03:52:34 +0000 UTCI'd definitely go for Unstoppable, and also Crimson Tide from 1995 (and also stars Denzel W.), both of those are honestly my all-time favorite Tony Scott films.

2020-07-01 00:11:51 +0000 UTCThe 2011 Footloose is pretty great! I think I prefer it over the original!
2020-06-30 22:31:47 +0000 UTCIf the Akima ladies do plan to watch TOP GUN, then it'd be fitting if they also react to another Tony Scott film, the 1995 submarine thriller CRIMSON TIDE, which is actually my all-time favorite submarine movie ever, specifically for its edge-of-the-seat tension. I'd also recommend Tony Scott's UNSTOPPABLE from 2010, which I also enjoy too. ;D

2020-06-30 22:00:06 +0000 UTCI am happy to see White House Down on here, seeing the Akima ladies react to it will almost feel like as if my life is complete. I would also recommend checking out the 1995 submarine film CRIMSON TIDE, which is an all-time favorite of mine that I would not mind a reaction to. ;D

2020-06-30 20:35:48 +0000 UTCFuture requests: I thought I’d repeat a few of the titles I suggested before. 12 MONKEYS (1995): Bruce Willis. Sci-Fi directed by Terry Gilliam with his trademark skewed angles and grungy aesthetic. Brad Pitt won a supporting Golden Globe. I don’t want to spoil too much of the plot, but this will feel especially eerie given our current world situation. I love how the relationships change throughout the story. GATTACA (1997): Beautiful cinematography and haunting music. Familiar sci-fi premise of “in the near future.” However, the atmosphere here is really unique – understated and sad. Fun Fact: Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman met on this movie. They later married and became parents to Maya Hawke, who you know as Robin from the third season of Stranger Things. EX MACHINA (2014): Indie sci-fi. Not gonna lie, this one’s a bit disturbing, and there are definitely some uncomfortable scenes. But it’s so worth watching. The script is smart, and the performances are stellar. I said this before, but it adds to the experience if you first re-watch the opening scene of “The Last Jedi” when Poe trolls the pompous General Hux. Because those same two actors are *so* different here. I almost did a spit-take when I realized this was Hux. SEARCHING FOR BOBBY FISCHER (1993): For something totally different, this is a wholesome family drama loosely based on the story of a real-life young chess prodigy. A great cast which includes Joan Allen, Ben Kingsley and Lawrence Fishburne (who you’ll recognize from the Matrix and Ant Man and the Wasp). The music by James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart) is lovely.

2020-06-30 11:50:27 +0000 UTCIt would be interesting to see their response to the Tim Burton Batman movies, simply because they're so different from the style of today's comic book movies. Batman Returns especially would be cool. The script isn't exactly grounded in reality, but the set design and cinematography are real works of art, and it has one of the most gorgeous Danny Elfman scores.

2020-06-30 02:21:12 +0000 UTCHello, first time on Patreon and I love your guy's content. It would be great if you react to the Daredevil movie that came out in 2003 starring Ben Affleck after you finish Season 2 of the show, and compare them both. The movie is a lot more cheesy, but I'd love to hear your guy's opinion. Thank you.

2020-06-30 01:48:17 +0000 UTCSpirited Away is great. I know people are pretty purist about anime, but I wanted to mention that the English dubs for most Miyazaki movies are done really well. If it ends up winning, I personally wouldn't mind if they watched the English version, as that's the one I saw and fell in love with.

2020-06-30 01:25:52 +0000 UTCThank you for experimenting with new ways of picking movies. I've long wanted to see less mainstream movies given more attention, so I really appreciate you trying. Even if this new system doesn't work out, or if it needs further tweaks, it's a great starting off point. Plus, the fact that you've been regularly squeezing in random "bonus" reactions helps a lot too.
