Chain SOP + Animated Alembics

Heyya guys!

In this tutorial we are combining Chain SOP & Retimed Animations (animated geo baked as .abc) to achieve a morphing effect, but as you might already see – its different for each object. Also - full control over the point where it happens :) Get creative and enjoy!

P.S. To save time i did a breakdown for the modelling part (I encourage you to come up with your own objects and cool animation for them) and then we build the chain and retiming setup step-by step!

Hi, one quick question For the "attributewrangle1" node under "/obj/path", while setting an intrinsic attribute to primitives it has been coded as " setprimintrinsic(0,"abcframe",@ptnum,@mask);". while looking at the houdini documentation it says to set the value of a writeable primitive intrinsic attribute ,write as int setprimintrinsic(int geohandle, string name, int prim_num, value, string mode="set"). So my question is ,in the code "setprimintrinsic(0,"abcframe",@ptnum,@mask);" should it be @primnum instead of @ptnum? Please correct me if Iam wrong .Iam a newbie in Houdini. Thanks for sharing all these great tutorials. Hoping to see more !

Hi! First of all, thank you so much for all your amazing content — it’s been incredibly helpful as I learn Houdini. I’m currently trying to recreate the effect that is shown in this video from minute 20:00, but I’m having trouble getting the simulation to behave the same way. I've been experimenting with different settings, but I just can’t seem to get that same fluid, natural motion or interaction. Would you consider making a Patreon breakdown or tutorial specifically on how to achieve that effect? It would mean a lot, and I think others would benefit too!
