KineFX 101 – Pt.17: No VEX Procedural Walkers

Chris has been watching lots of gamedev videos lately and in one of them stumbled on a very neat solution for a procedural walking system. One that’s a lot easier to build than the last setup in this course. So it’s time for a revisit and rebuild of this setup. And this time even without touching any VEX!

Hey! Here are a few things, I would troubleshoot: Take a look at the attribs on both streams connected to the inputs of the FBIK Node: There should be a name attrib on both and there should be matching names on your main rig and control rig. On the FBIK Node, make sure the "Map Using" Parm is set to "Match by Attribute" Play with the FBIK Settings, mainly Iterations, Damping and Tolerance. If you're still having trouble, we have an entire video on the FBIK Solver early on the series (episode 3 or 4, I think)

I have gone through this a few times but for some reason I cant get the full body IK to move with the feet.
