Volumes 101 - Point Advection

As a quick interlude before we're gonna dive into the ins and outs of wrangling volumes in VEX and OpenCL, here's some relaxation for our eyes: Building abstract line art using point advection.

Interesting that @name=="vel" works correctly in the Velocity VDB parameter but @name=='vel' with single quotes does not.

Hi, Please tell me what's difference between 1,2, inputs of VOP. I make on the contrary (Accordingly, contrary in VOP) and get other things . I lost a lot of time to find issue. I am confused and don't understand why vdb analysis necessary needs port 1 and vdb from polygond port 2. vise versa does not work. Thank you!

Is this the same method you'd use to make carbonation in a fluid? If not, what's your thoughts on the ideal way?

Simply bad (or good?) habit I guess. I'm used to working in VEX and I am mostly confronted with reading volume values from different inputs, so that's what I tend to use. Haven't checked performance wise, might make a slight difference - please let me know when you have any info on that :) Cheers, Mo

Hi there, out of curiosity: why do you keep volume sampling your first input in the Volume VOP while a simple Bind with proper naming imports your data right away and save the calculations from the Volume Sample ?

Nothing too special - just an HDRI plus mantra set to physical. Pretty standard :) Cheers, Mo <a href="https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksng7vtsix0wntx/gradient_plus_curl_trails_015.hipnc?dl=1" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.dropbox.com/s/ksng7vtsix0wntx/gradient_plus_curl_trails_015.hipnc?dl=1</a>

Mo, to say your tutorials are blowing my mind would be an understatement. Question: What did your render setup look like for this? Thanks!
