2025-05-05 09:28:47 +0000 UTCI enjoyed the reaction but most of my thoughts on this movie remain. First and foremost a Superhero movie is only as good as its villain. It's a mediocre villain at best; not known or all that interesting. She has a vendetta against Captain Marvel but not the other two. And we don't know the Kree or Skrull all that well. Kree seem like bad people, skrull like refugees but none of that is really developed... yet. The "training" scene on the ship is largely skippable, which is ironic cause the end fight scene is pretty solid. There's no indication they've trained combat between each other when they're balancing books on their heads (and I'm trying not to mention the Marvel Musical planet lol). I could've used less Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and more Marvel. These ladies need to see Gamora and X-23.

2025-05-05 00:46:48 +0000 UTCI really enjoyed Kristen's reaction, here. When she say's Kamala carried the movie I sorta agree. It gives me the heebie-jeebies though because the MCU standard playbook is to make us love a youthful happy character and then to drive that character through so much trauma that we weep. I like Kamala so much it makes me afraid something bad will happen to her. Also I fully expect to see Monica come storming over a hill with all the X-Men behind her at some critical point in Doomsday or Secret Wars.
