Yeah, Gambit is a great character but in my humble opinion, so difficult to cast because he has to have so many elements (least of all one of the most difficult accents to learn as an actor) in order to make him Gambit. - AK

2024-10-13 15:43:39 +0000 UTCSomeone with the body frame of Keanu - Young as when he played Neo -Might have been an option? - Few actors can pull off that accent, remember B Pitt when he spoke some Caribbean accent (i think it sounded it like) in Meet Joe Black-? There is another hard one to act - or sound off. Plus he must be a Smooth & Fast talker too since Gambit does a lot of talking. lol

2024-10-13 02:21:56 +0000 UTCGambit being in the movie was more about having channing tatum finally dress up as gambit. I'm sure if he had his own movie it would be more like the comics but this was just a fan service

2024-10-12 23:21:26 +0000 UTCI’m going to say this here because doubt anyone will actually read a full comment of mine on YouTube. I don’t actually have an issue with Channing Tatum’s accent in the film. He did a great job. When I say that accent is hard to do, it’s because I genuinely think it’s one of the hardest accents to do well as an actor because it’s all over the place and hard to nail if you’re not a native. He had some funny moments in the film and some truly bad ass fight scene moments. BUT saying that, for me, he didn’t embody that rogueish Cajun charm that I love from the animation. As a young girl I had a crush on him in the cartoon. I only saw him briefly but thought, damn…that’s one cool guy. Plus, I liked his more slender frame in the animation and Channing is a pretty big and buff guy. It’s just a difference of opinion that’s all. Happy to see Gambit again in live action. Hoping for more. But in my mind he’s always going to be a tough character to bring to life and do justice to because everyone has a different idea of what he’s supposed to be because we love him so much. That’s all. Glad Channing Tatum got his time in the sun though and if he gets a Gambit movie, I’m happy to be proven wrong and eat my hat lol

2024-10-12 22:24:44 +0000 UTCI hope you had a great time in Japan. Now, I understand why the delay in MCU, Mission Impossible, and John Wick series. I hope we are gonna get feast of watchalongs.

2024-10-12 22:14:54 +0000 UTCI do wonder what their reaction might have been if they didn't watch the X-Men animated show. The fact that they thought that was a good representation of Gambit is the infuriating part. I doubt anyone could've done a better Cajun accent than Channing. No one would have the passion he did. Only Ryan understands what he went through and how much he cares about that character.

2024-10-12 22:13:17 +0000 UTCIt’s infuriating how every reactor has absolutely no clue about Cajun Country.

2024-10-12 20:47:38 +0000 UTCEven though you weren't a fan of Channing Tatum's Gambit his accent is a truly authentic Cajun accent. Gambit is from new Orleans and Cajun descent. Just like Ryan Reynolds was meant to play Deadpool and was true to the comics, Channing Tatum was also true to the comic book version of Gambit and meant to play it.

2024-10-12 19:40:46 +0000 UTCAlso, two other cameos that were not mentioned was Cowboy Deadpool was Matthew McConaughey and Headpool was Nathan Fillion.

2024-10-12 19:12:08 +0000 UTCAlso, Not only Ryan Reynolds’ Wife, Blake Lively, was Ladypool, Ryan Reynolds’ daughter was Kidpool, and Ryan Reynolds’ son was Babypool. They really did keep it in the family.

2024-10-12 19:10:09 +0000 UTCThe reason why they used Channing Tatum as Gambit was that Channing was cast as Gambit in 2014. They even brought him out at comic-con and announced it, but due to the Fox Disney merger his dream role as Gambit got lost (where Ryan has that love for that character of Deadpool; Channing had that same love of the character of Gambit). Ryan Reynolds called him up and said you want a shot and had him comeback for this. That’s why the line is so funny when he says “You know how long I have been waiting for this. I’m going to make a name for myself.” because finally getting to play his dream role after 10 years after being cast as it. Rumor is Marvel is talking with Channing to come back as Gambit and Ryan has said if they make a Gambit film with Channing he would be 100% willing to comeback as Deadpool in that film.
