Look, I will never ever defend the bay movies (or any of the live action movies for that matter except for bumblebee, which did absolutely nothing with its premise except be an iron giant copy but it's still better than the crap beforehand) because they eliminated every single thing that makes the transformers franchise great in favour of crude humour and robots that are solely on screen to use guns and blades and nothing else. They are visual masterpieces that have no substance underneath all that flash. But please for future reactions at least try to be consistent with your complaints. You complain about continuity errors such as the "blood" (they're aliens, not machines. They should have a blood substitute) but completely forget about characters that were in these movies since the very first one. Ironhide is the one that gets gunned down by Sentinel, a character who has been in the main cast since the very first movie. He should be important to you if you cared about continuity, and yet y'all completely forgot he existed and simply called him "one of the good ones". Yet somehow its offensive that they introduced something that looks like blood simply because they "weren't in the previous movies" (they were, it just looked different) or the fact that Megan Fox isn't in this movie so somehow Carly is a bad character? Pick a lane. To be fair, none of the robots have any actual personality or character for audiences to grab onto so it's easy for them to be forgettable but still. Either be uptight about continuity AND actually remember what happened before, or don't care about it at all. Watching you guys complain about something in the name of "continuity" and yet dropping the ball when it comes to actually remembering the previous films' contents was lowkey frustrating. Remember, the transformers are meant to be living beings. They're Cybertronians, AKA a species of their own. They shouldn't look like ordinary machines on the inside. They're aliens, not man-made. A fluid coming out of their body when they suffer injuries reflect that better than randomly assembled pieces of machinery that serve as their innards. What's more offensive was the internal wiring shown when Sentinel's helmet got removed, that just screams "machinery" instead of "living creature". It has nothing to do with them wanting the robots to seem more human. Also there was a "blood like substance" coming out of them from previous films, look up ravage's death when he body gets separated from his spine in the second film as an example. It just looked more "goo-ey". So it's consistent in that regard, just not how it presents itself. These movies bother me as a TF fan, and are utter dogshit story-wise. Hopefully TF:ONE (which comes out next month) will be the first TF film that actually lives up to and respects the franchise's continuity and characters. I just had to say something because while some of your complaints were valid, some of them seemed disingenuous and not at all stemmed from an objective review/take of the film itself.
