This was the first time I watched the Special Edition and I think the additions of backstory about her daughter really makes the bond between her and Newt stronger and more impactful. I always though Alien was the better film, but with this SE I am sort of leaning a bit towards Aliens. Alien 3 is not a bad film, but as a continuation of Aliens I would avoid it. I actually prefer a comic book series that I remember reading in the late 80's.
