Maybe the Patreon earnings for you guys are not substantial and that is why this ignorance but many of your Patreons might be students and paying your dollars out of their pocket money. But, I did learn one thing in my B-school, if you pay for something then do demand proper service. If you guys are super busy with your own stuff then it is completely understood and if it is not feasible for you guys to maintain this platform then either close it or hire a SMM or an Intern.
