Early comic - “clean burning fuel”

This comic is uncanny to me. Years ago, my wife and I worked on a product idea called The Butt Shut, which was basically a tube that piped farts to pre-installed wall sockets. This way the stench only bothered outside peasants. We even theorized all sorts of add-ons and cross marketing promotions -- a methane collector to help save the planet, scented snap-on attachments in case you wanted to be nice to the outside weirdos. I even drew up a detailed blueprint: https://trask.cc/tbs.png We tried to pitch this to potential investors, who invariably rebuffed our proposals. I suppose genius just isn't appreciated in its time. My wife and I will do our part to rectify that, and acknowledge fellow unappreciated geniuses Neil and Marissa.

Years later, I saw Adam Savage construct a machine to do the exact same thing on an episode of Mythbusters. He was so proud. It was at that moment that I realized our idols were mere mortals, and even God was likely dead.
