Let's Play Rain World [Full Playthrough for Patreon] (& update blog I guess)
Added 2025-01-05 20:04:42 +0000 UTCHey everyone, we're about to start the next Patreon game, so I figure it's time to give the previous full playthrough to my remaining (non-Early Access) patrons. I get that voting, only to get the game three months later, isn't ideal. There were kinda growing pains with how the early access perk interacts with the voting system this year, and how I was letting various new releases skip in line in an attempt to grow the channel, to the point where some stuff has been sitting in Patreon-Exclusive mode for like eight months.
I've been actively addressing this lately by airing all of the Patreon-voted games back to back, which is why we suddenly had public releases for Armored Core and Professor Layton. In the future, games chosen by Patreon should be public much, much closer to the time of the vote. Usually whenever the next game on the schedule finishes.
Here's all of Rain World, now for $1 and up Patrons!

Sorry for the mess! As might imagine, juggling three channels and writing a visual novel means that my priorities shift around a lot from month to month. This is hopefully kinda cool if you like everything I do, but might be really annoying if you're here exclusively for one thing I make and I let that get sloppy. Ultimately, hunting for new releases didn't really pay off, so I'm kinda done with that outside of fringe cases like a new Dark Souls or Myst game. I'm content to let my backlog air in chronological order, with Patreon games skipping in line every three months, while I refocus my energy on writing instead of trying to binge new releases so that I can have a Patreon-worthy backlog while being in the middle of releasing public videos for the same series. That was a headache lol
As a general update, this month I'm trying to make a video about making visual novels. It feels like it'd be the easiest video to make so far? But I have a self-imposed deadline of trying to get it out this month because there's another FVN game jam coming next month. I don't think I have it in me to participate, but I want to be able to direct people's energy toward it.

It's gonna be a kinda weird video. Part my normal scripted stuff, part tutorial, part interview. I'll have to find the video in the edit. After that, I'm right back to some of my bigger projects I've been putting off. I keep thinking about that Myst video that I was working on in like 2023, and how I really need to get my shit together there. It felt intimidating that it's about three books and like eight games, so I think I put it on the backburner until I got an ADHD diagnosis, but after spending a year with that I've mostly found myself at a dead end with no answers. Guess I'll just have to cope and figure it out.
My personal goal, perhaps unrealistic, is to have a video out on the essay channel every other month, for six new ones in a year. This might take the form of me alternating between big projects and me salvaging old abandoned scripts for easier output in between. Either way I need to figure out a system that gets actual results if I want to keep doing this, since Let's Plays don't feel like they attract audiences the way that they used to. I've been gifted an opportunity with the surprise success of the essay channel and I need to stop squandering it, and push past the pressure from how many eyes I can feel on me now.
Thank you for your support.
