People with power in those times seemed to get a kick out of violence. This gave me The Purge vibes. It's hard not to agree that killing is bad regardless. They may all be criminals but it doesn't make it right. Self defense is justified but it ends in the taking of a life, that's a situation i think no one wants to ever be in.

2023-04-09 00:23:41 +0000 UTCAbout the, Defend himself without killing, comment. For all that he says he is still Gabimaru. That is what the first episode tell us. Donβt take everything Gabimaru said at face value even if he believes it. Like he doesnβt want to kill but goes into a killing spree. He could have stop at the first one and convince other not to kill him We see in the visual that Gabimaru has much more dead spirit ( I donβt know what to call them) stuck to him than the executioner lady. So he accepted this burden. I guess that's what she learned here. Each time she kills there is more vengeful spirit stock to her. And that is what she is afraid of. But he learns to accept that part of the killing.

My guess is that he wonβt get immortality by the end of the show. ( just a hunch I donβt know more than you) Even the Shogen guard think heβs stupid. Flashback the bullies are not the smartest. Throwing rock at the daughter of a family known for killing. Ok maybe they will not kill innocent people but still. Not the smartest target to pick. All the killing is hunting her.

Guessing everything and holding her own against Gabimaru π I think your executioner being nervous add to the stress. A strong calming presence or aura can calm people down. The other girl prisoner was not impressed by Gabimaru. You have to give that Gabimaru being bored and not interested is not very impressive. He will be later at the end of the episode π Yep the guy with flowers is still alive π±

Gabimaru being one of the exceptions did not smile while killing Sagiri wants to be like her father. Being able to kill someone peacefully without pain Also as of right now we don't even know if the elixir of immortality even exists. They're mistaking the way these people are dying as an island uncharted by man, a place so mystical that the elixir has to exist there
