Weekly Update

Hi all,

So the good news is that I'm feeling a lot better. It really feels like you're getting older when you start taking longer recovering from simple illnesses, whatever I'd caught ended up knocking me around for about half a week in the end, but it seems to have cleared up.

The bad news, as you've probably noticed, is that, while I'm still working frantically on the coming chapter, it's still not done yet.

Obviously it's taking longer than I expected (and I knew this would take some time), and for some insight into that, I'll explain, it's the difference between how a scene appears in my head when I'm planning it and how it winds up panning out the story itself.

Lets look for example at one of the scenes from my most recent Robin/Anna/Anna story. Here's the notes I wrote for myself, when sketching the idea out.

 1) They finally get a bit of a break, enough to escalate things. She’s now kneeling below the counter, sucking him off.

2) Just as she starts going, in walks Morgan [OR Lucina, or Chrom, Tharja or whoever makes the most sense.]

3) Robin has to make conversation while Anna gives him a slightly awkward blowjob under the counter. She’s a little faster paced than he’s used to, but they’ve never done it like this before.

4) He cums while they’re going at it.

5) Manages to play it off.

5 lines and a pretty simple idea, it's fairly easy to imagine the scene and the interactions between Robin and Anna, makes it seem like the kind'a scene you can knock out in an hour or so.

In practice that scene ended up being more than 3,000 words and consisting of multiple pages. As I wrote it and as the previous scenes came together, things took a slightly different route (eg. she wasn't sucking him off when Chrom came in, she only did that as things escalated in the process of it) and obviously when it came to actually writing out the interactions between Chrom and Robin, as well as Morgan's interruption, things expanded more and more, and, especially for me when it comes to dialogue, that means a huge increase in the time taken to write it.

I always hope that I manage to keep my characters in character and to write good dialogue, becuase that's the thing that slows me down the absolute most, any conversation you may read has likely been written and re-phrased at least 2-3 times, with it sometimes taking more than an hour just on a few lines back and forth between two people, until things sound right.

So there you go.

Things are still progressing very well with the current chapter, I'm hoping to have it done very shortly, but the scenes I was imagining to be a little smaller have wound up being quite a bit larger and if that continues, there's still quite some work to do. I'll keep you updated as I go forwards.

I probably won't get much of anything done this coming weekend though, since it's my birthday and I'll be travelling back home to visit family.

Hey Davenport. I was thinking of pledging the 150 but would love to chat you about it first. Just read your robin story and was enthralled. Would love to see some custom work from you on a regular basis.
