2025-10-31 04:05:40 +0000 UTCI wished I'd have seen the story submissions because I work in a bar that has a bunch of abandoned apartments we have to walk through (the corridor) during busy times to get to the staff room/office A guy did actually die in one of them and everyone has atleast one story. And the fact multiple of us have seen the same figures running across the dancefloor to the creepy stairwell in which leads to the apartments at the same time. Genuinely haunted. The apartment hallway has two fire doors. It's graffitied and has rusty old padlocks on the doors and some of them are busted, some I don't think we even have keys for, But sometimes we see the light on inside them. as well as a massive old style fan in a specifically unlit area that creaks like hell. Footsteps, lights turning off on you, doors slamming. The general feel of "I need to get the fuck out" and the hairs on the back of your neck standing on end even when youre mid conversation. They've named him Gerald.

2025-10-28 22:20:13 +0000 UTCi didn’t grow up religious but i grew up believing in the holy trinity. in my opinion, (after reading some of the bible, spending years believing and some years not) i think God is just a being. God could be anything or anywhere. Whether that’s the trees outiside, the ocean, the birds in the sky, the wind, or that peace you feel, like how Jack mentioned, while meditating. I would like to believe i have felt God’s peace and presence before when i ask for it or when i’m in a really bad spot in my life and i meditate and do prayer. And although im not in a religion or consider myself religious, more like spiritual, i think it’s a beautiful thing to have faith in something we cannot always see, but we can sometimes feel.

The idea of God as being the universe is present in some forms of spiritual belief but the general view of God is generally different. A good place to start is God as a creator (Tom mentioned about it not all being by accident) God is therefore considered beyond space and time. In the Christian Faith God meets us in Jesus Christ (who is his very self) and he bridges the gap between us (reasonably insignificant creatures on a tiny planet) and him (the greatest possible being) which I think helps gain incite into what communication between us and God in prayer actually is. I could waffle but it’s a fascinating and beautiful thing which I have found as the underpinning of my life. Love your guys stuff, been a fan for years and daily shut up Im talking enjoyer. Keep it up 😎

2025-10-27 21:43:36 +0000 UTCIn my opinion, the reason each culture have their own form of theism - and have done throughout time - is because of the way we have evolved, not necessarily because a higher power is real. Our intelligence and ability to think in abstract ways have allowed us to come up with our own ideas of how the universe was created/who looks over it all. Our need for connection, family and faith is intrinsically human and has been since the very beginning of civilisation. That's not to say atheists lack humanity, faith can be found in an infinite amount of places and look so different to each other. I do think its a whole lot of nothing after we die - we are just animals after all - but we're the sort of animals that evolved to have a very specific sort of intelligence and I think that is why theism is found in every culture. Thank you for coming to my TedTalk.
