Amnesia Month Week 2!
Added 2024-05-13 17:29:08 +0000 UTCEach week of Amnesia Month (even the shorter weeks) you will have three files to listen to and review. There are fifteen files in all, as well as a spreadsheet which you can find here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1j--OqBG5ZPkINf11iYtYAsesnbOW6JCMQ5SUFb0vQz8/edit?usp=sharing so that you can fill in information as the weeks progress. (To use the spreadsheet, please make a copy of it by clicking on "file" in the upper left hand corner and then "make a copy" from the drop down menu.)
For Week 2, your files were:
1. "Memory" (130DC)
2. "Now You See It, Now You Don't" (301DC)
3. "Helpless: Lost Bellybutton" (211DC)
Here are some specific questions to consider in addition to those on the spreadsheet about each of these files:
1. "Memory" - You could say that remembering and forgetting are two sides of the same coin. Do you feel as if remembering something is the same process as forgetting, only reversed? Something else?
2. "Now You See It, Now You Don't" - Picturing something mentally is a skill that some people are better at than others. (The percentage of people who truly cannot visualize anything is actually quite small.) Do you think your skill at visualizing has changed after listening to this file?
3. "Helpless: Lost Bellybutton" - Whether or not you lost your bellybutton, how would you categorize effectiveness of my suggestions after listening to this file?
4. Has your memory of the files from Week 1 changed at all since last week?
The questions on the spreadsheet are the same for every file, and are as follows:
1. If You've Listened To This File Before, Please Describe It Before Listening Again.
2. Under what conditions are you going to listen to the file? (eg. Environment, Listening Device, First Listen?, etc.)
3. After Listening (perhaps again), What Do You Remember?
4. What else would you like me to know?
Please feel free to answer any of these questions that you are comfortable answering in the comments for this post! You can also have a more thorough discussion about them in the Discord.
Here are the files we covered in Week 1:
Week 1
"Spring Cleaning" (308DC)
"About Amnesia" (253DC)
"Amnesia, Again?" (256DC)
Enjoy Week 3!
