Spire of Secrets 3 | Strange Owlchemy, Subclasses, Races

My pen-hammer has been pounding the paper-forge this month, in what I can only say is a clumsy analogy for working my butt off on everything Spire of Secrets related. And good news! The book is very nearly complete. We are at 359 pages, with a handful of pages yet to make it in. A beefy book! I've also added the last few spells to the Spells chapter (updated in its post) and done a lot of work on updating the Complete Craftsman (updated in its post as well!)

Today, I offer you a few selections from Spire of Secrets:

First, a brand new adventure! Strange Owlchemy is an adventure for 1st-to-3rd level characters which should act as an easy introduction to D&D as a whole. It'll get plenty of art when we put it in the Starter Kit of Secrets for the Kickstarter, but I figure I'd throw it at you as early as I could. It's a funny/horrific adventure about a mad alchemist attempting to re-engineer the owlbear from random animals. I even created a new abbreviated statblock system to make this thing extra playable, in a way that D&D adventures usually aren't. I hope it all passes muster!

Next up, the entire Races chapter for Spire of Secrets. Only five races total, but the most interesting thing will probably be the changes to the gepettins (which have even had their names changed from matryoshka!) Not the most gigantic chapter, but I think the art is super neat. (Pardon the margin bars being incorrect! The file is still very much incomplete on that front, so all of these use the same basic background master thing.)

Lastly, even more Subclasses. We have all the remaining subclasses, sans the wizards, which are going in the book. There's an itty-bitty of lorem ipsum here and there, but it's very much together in a working state. Tons of new content between the rangers, rogues, sorcerers, and warlocks -- dig into them!

Comments

This looks like a lot of reformat and copying problems in these. I look forward to the finished product, but I am a little underwhelmed. Keep it up, and thanks for the hard work regardless!

Tony

All of the pages have Alchemist on the sides of the pages instead of their corresponding class. And the races all say classes and Alchemist as well.

Santiago Mendez IV

That would be the Lorem Ipsum they mentioned. It’s placeholder text until they put whatever cool blurb they write there.

Ben Fowler

I don't know if this was intentional, but the description for the warlock section of the spire subclasses are in what I suspect is latin?
