🚨Important YT Channel Update🚨

Hey! I have a VERY important channel update for you 💓 I will also address this in a separate video so you don’t HAVE to read this (it is long AF), but if you want the inside scoop then continue on 🙂

YouTube denied my monetization again (don’t worry this whole thing isn’t a rant…it me explaining how my content is changing going forward and why) which means another month of no revenue while I make a bunch of changes and cross my fingers hoping to get monetized.

For clarity, the first demonetization happened to me in Feb of 2020. I had to remove a lot of mouth sound content, my twin ear eating video, etc to regain monetization and as a result — I moved to my yearly ear eating thing and practically stopped doing mouth sounds. All of this to operate within their guidelines and stay monetized.

This strategy DID work until April of 2022 (so about 2 years). I have over 300 videos on my channel and ONLY 6 of them are demonetized (4 are ear eating videos, 1 is a kiss sound video and the other one I am just wearing black and too close to the mic). All my other videos, the lingerie hauls, and everything else you’ve seen was all monetized. When YouTube demonetized me, I begged for reasoning because I haven’t changed anything with my content and my monetized / demonetized ratio is one of the lowest of most ASMR creators on this platform.

The only “info” I was able to get out of them with (no kidding close to 20 emails) was a reference (time stamp) to a ØnłyFäns logo appearing in the intro of some of my videos. Background for you: They recentlyish updated their policy on external links and, basically, you aren’t allowed to link to anywhere off your YouTube page that leads to adult content (and this can also apply in a way like if you link your Instagram only but there’s a link on your Instagram leads people to an adult site — yes that granular). Ok, so understanding all of the new rules the logos were blurred in all my videos + all links were removed of all my social media.

May 6th I reapplied for monetization again. Denied a couple days later. This lead to me going off on Twitter because I was FURIOUS. I fixed the ONLY THING they eluded needed to be fixed and still not monetized…what gives?

They STILL haven’t given me any DIRECT information. But, linked a different part of their guidelines that said they look at your highest viewed videos and basically get a “feel” for your channel that way and decide if you should be monetized. Well for me, my top videos are all demonetized ear eating. Once I figured out now this is the next thing they want me to change (remove these videos) and I could change it and they still deny my monetization again…I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I’ve sat with this decision for a long time (since April when this all happened) and I finally committed to the plan.

I’ve decided to not even apply for monetization again. It is useless. I refuse to delete my ear eating videos. I am not the only creator that does them and I didn’t even do that many (this will be changing). At this point, I will be turning HeatheredEffect ASMR into the home for my demonetized content — mouth sounds, kisses, ear eating, lingerie hauls (which I am contracted to do through my Vandy contract) and whatever else my heart desires. There were so many things that I couldn’t do because I was trying to be SO careful to keep my channel safe and monetized (after all it’s a very important revenue stream for me). And, after all my hard work and carefulness…here I am again two years later. So, no more. I will not let YT have this hold over my mental health and, luckily, I DO have other income streams and will be offer even more content on these places (more info below).

The downside of this is that I will be posting less frequently here; BUT there will still be weekly uploads AND more tingly mouth sound content! And to help offset the revenue loss here (which was pretty significant—I am not going to lie to you). I will be slightly more promote-y with my paid subscription sites. I realize this rubs some people the wrong way. I won’t be able to make people understand why I need to make money to sustain the free content on this channel and make up the income this provided if they can’t take a step back from their biased views and try to see something from someone else’s perspective. But, I know a lot of you will not mind this and I promise to do it in the least annoying…dare I say…enjoyable for you 👀 ways possible.

I rebranded new ASMR channel to MoonAura ASMR and (also super excited about this) I will be remastering some of my favorite videos from this channel — adding in new scenes, layering more sounds and making them even better than the original! And, I will also be making new roleplay content and other ASMR content there minus the things that YT hates — ear eating apparently and who knows what else.

🖤 I also made changes to my Twitch accounts as well to reflect my new direction. I know some of you JUST want ASMR live while others really enjoy my hang out streams. So, here’s the deal with that…

Whew… that’s a lot to read and a lot of different channels. But, it’s essentially everything I was doing before…just bifurcated a bit to help direct people to the content they actually want to see instead of subjecting folks to just anything and everything I want to do.

YouTube handed me lemons and I made lemonade. That I will pour on my body and post pics in the community feed 😝 OH YEAH…that’s my last update. Now that I don’t have to worry about being demonetized, I will be posting more spicy teaser pics and updates that you are DEFINITELY going to want to see. So, make sure you have post notifications turned ON so you can see it all! There’s a lot of good things to come and I am excited about my new adventure. I honestly feel free from the YouTube shackles and able to just CREATE again.
