Taylor Swift - Change & The Best Day (music videos) FIRST REACTION

DOUBLE FEATURE: The last two music videos from the Fearless era! It's kind of funny how these pairings happened, but they've been working out haha. My heart felt like it was about to explode watching "The Best Day" 😂😭

Taylor Swift - Change & The Best Day (music videos) FIRST REACTION

As a single mum myself, being a strong role model for my son is so important to me. One of the biggest things we bond over is our love for Taylor - it was inevitable with me as his mum 😂 I managed to get us tickets to Liverpool night 3 last year, I think we both just sobbed the whole night! If he grows up to be even half as emotionally mature as yourself, I will be SO proud ❤️

The Best Day will always be special to me. I was 14 when Fearless came out and like many teenage girls I was going through allllll the things she was singing about (bullying, feeling invisible etc.) But luckily I also had a bond with my mom very similar to Taylor and Andreas. So I played this song to my mom and made her read the lyrics in the CD booklet (English isn’t our first language so lyrics were needed), and we cried and sang along together for the rest of my teenage years with the CD in our car - and then we got to go to the Eras Tour last year together 🥺🫶🏼

Change has always been a skip for me (been a fan since debut). But it randomly played on shuffle a few days after Taylor got her masters back - and it felt SO different to me having that in mind. For the first time ever Change hit me, like really hit me. For those of you who are curious, try listening to the song thinking of it through the lense of grown Taylor and what she’s been through these last years and finally owning her lifes work - it has a whole new (and deeper) meaning to me now 🥹🫶🏼

Danny, really enjoying your dive into the Fearless era. The Best Day gets me every time. There's a Behind the Scenes of the recording session for "Change" that's good, but the versions on YT are poor quality compared to the DVD in the Fearless Platinum Edition. Reality is she did have some weak vocal moments back then and got a lot of criticism for it, often unfairly harsh. But she worked really hard and was remarkably better on Speak Now. Regardless of vocals, her writing was still way above her peers.

False Dog

It is a true testament to Taylor how much work she put in making her vocals stronger and stronger over time. So many performers who have success as teenagers become complacent. Taylor has an unmatched work ethic and those of us who have followed her for a long time are consistently stunned by how she constantly evolves and improves - it’s the basis of her longevity in a profession that practically disallows someone to shine for so long. You’ll also be happy to hear that her brother Austin continues to be a gem of a human being just like she is. I saw the Eras tour in Indy last November and security was giving a young-ish girl (late teens?) a hard time for wearing a Chiefs football helmet (a lot of people honor Travis at her shows now but helmets like that weren’t allowed). Austin was there and saw the security guard was taking it a bit too far and stepped in. He completely de-escalated the situation and was charming as all get out to make sure the fan’s concert experience wasn’t ruined. I witnessed it happening and there’s also a video of it someone else took floating around the internet. Extremely high quality people those Swifts are! ❤️

I just danced to The Best Day with my one and only baby at her graduation party this Saturday and absolutely lost it 😭😭 and so did everyone watching us, we may have changed some of their minds on Taylor Swift that day 😂 That song just provokes strong emotions, loved your reaction 🫶🏻

I appreciate your emotional maturity so much, I grew up with a chip on my shoulder bc of my circumstances and at 31 now, I see what a beautiful life people give to their children and don't feel hatred but I see it for what it is- just as you said- what everyone strives for.

SAME!

Every time I watch one of your reactions I’m reminded of how well balanced your thinking is and that’s very commendable

I’m sure others can relate, but I would give just about anything to have the kind of relationship with my mother that Taylor has with hers.

I don't know if anyone told you but Chaange is about her band and label, that's why they're centre in the video.
