~The Legend of Sleepy Hollow: By Washington Irving~
Added 2022-09-12 00:03:57 +0000 UTCA handful of things:
1. I forgot that this book is not that long all things considered, so I figured splitting it up into two parts would be silly.
2. This book was written in the 1800's so has some racist language in it that I changed, because I am not saying those words, I don't care. There is also very blatant racist descriptions and ideas (for First Nations people and people of color.) These I did not change, but do not condone in the least. Just because it was a writing of it's time, doesn't mean that it's ok.
3. This book mentions child abuse that schoolteachers used to perform, and frames it as a good thing. It also has some casual sexism and classism in it. Again, this was written in the 1800's. Again, it's not ok.
4. I forgot how many fucking commas and semicolons Washington Irving will just fling about in one sentence. (If my cadence and reading sound weird in some spots, that's probably why).
5. To modern audiences, this will probably not seem spooky or scary in the least. However, again, taking into consideration that this book was written in the 1800's, it would be considered absolutely terrifying to the people of the time.
Anyways, outside of those things, I hope you all enjoy!
