Man I feel like you just jumped in my brain and read my exact thoughts lol. The beat made me feel like an old buddy cop chase scene going out of hand. She nailed the feeling of chaos while trying to keep it under control. She's truly incredible.

2025-02-27 13:29:29 +0000 UTCThis song is so painfully underrated. It's gotta be top 10 for me. I wanna say top 5 but her discography is so elite. I love the vocal work she does on this song. The way she uses her voice really captures this emotion of restraint for me, like a woman on the edge who's so close to snapping. I think it's the way she keeps a mostly consistent tone with a very specific level of grit/growl and she only deviates from it to emphasize some of the words by raising her volume and pushing more air out on them. The consistent growl with only occasional emphasis feels like someone's physically holding her back but she keeps slipping through sometimes. It's so interesting and then the instrumental just ties it all up with this disco forward-driving feel, so it also kind of makes me think of being in a car that's going full speed and you realize that you can't stop it. Fantastic storytelling all around.
