Autumn Festivals were one of your favorite things growing up on the mainland, but they don't really happen the same way on Alola. Luckily, Guzma was missing them too, and invited you to come along to one.

I'm playing fast and loose with the canon universe here folks lol. I've always had the headcanon that Guzma wasn't originally from Alola, and that he moved to get away from a bad situation/his parents and he's actually from one of the mainland regions. I also kind of made up how ghost Pokemon kind of work because I have a huge soft spot for them. Basically all of this is my headcanons lol, so I hope you enjoy them regardless.

Guzma: *deep breath* I love this time of year......

As much as I genuinely like Alola....there's somethin' about Autumn on the mainland which is totally different......

You know what I mean, right? 

Having fairly nice tropical weather most of the time is cool and all, but sometimes.....you miss the seasons.....

Which is why I'm super glad you agreed to join me for this trip. It's been....it's been a while since I've been able to go back to the mainland.....for more than just time and resource reasons but....I'm really glad I'm here with you.....

*sighs softly* The colors....I think that's what I missed most about the seasons changing......

*pause*

It reminds me that time is actually passing, that the days are going to get shorter....that you're....progressing......that you're living.....

*chuckles, embarrassed* I don't know if that makes much sense to anyone but me, but......it's still nice......like the colors too.....

And I'm a fan of it not being so damn hot......sometimes......in Alola, I swear it's like I'm melting just from standing in place......

*chuckles* I'm glad you feel the same way too.....some of the grunts complain if it gets less than actually boiling outside....something I'll never understand *chuckles*

I really like the crunch of the leaves too when you walk through them.....it's.....such a unique sound and feeling that.....you don't really realize until you don't have it.....

*pause*

You feelin' it too? One of those, "You don't know what you got until it's gone?" kinda things?

Then again.....being so close to the ocean all the time.....that's something I never experienced on the main land......

But anyways.....What do you like about Autumn?

*long pause*

Oh yeah, the food, definitely.......Spicy and sweet....what a combination, right? Sometimes there's nothin' better than curling up with a warm cup of cider, or hot chocolate, or somethin' like that and just, relaxing....enjoying everything......

*pause*

Yeah, everything just kinda…..slowing down…..people retreating indoors more…..spending time with loved ones…..not under the pressure to, “Go, go, go” all the time…...

*pause*

Eh...I like pumpkin as much as the next guy....it's definitely good.....but I really like ginger.....like ginger snaps....or molasses....somethin' like that?

You can almost smell it on the air......along with all the hay bales *chuckles*

Oh yeah....that's one thing I don't particularly miss.....I can get hay fever somethin' fierce sometimes.....

*pause*

Naw, I'm alright......it's not that bad here.......there were some festivals I've been to where they sprinkle hay on the ground too and it gets everywhere.....I was sneezing for days after those........

*pause*

It's fun to see people play games with their pokemon too, huh?

I used to be a monster at bobbing for apples......people'll have always said I gotta big mouth.....

*snort laughs* No....not like that.....jerk.........

*pause*

And....another thing....I like how this time of year......ghost pokemon start to come out more frequently.....

*pause*

Hey.....I try not to judge a book by it's cover, ya know? While they ain't my favorite type.....I can see that some of 'em.....they just want to be friends, yeah? They can't help their nature or nothing.....they get more friendly, I think.....at least that's what I've experienced.....I think they know....that the long seasons of bright light all the time are fading away.....and a time where they can be more free and around is coming......

'Sides.......I think some of 'em.....are pretty cute.......see there? That lady's pumpkaboo is huge! You don't really see 'em like that in Alola......it could probably blend right into a pile of leave if they were orange enough........

Hey, you ever hear of Marshadow?

It's said that is conceals itself in the shadows, and that it rarely shows up in front of humans and it copies and mimics a pokemon's power and movements......legends say that it also can mimic humans, and can learn things from them too.....spooky huh? That a pokemon could be watching and learning your every move and you'd never even know?

*chuckles* A lot of people think it's just a myth.....but hey......we think a lot of things about Pokemon or certain Pokemon are myths.....and then someday someone discovers one and learns more about it, and poof, myth gone. So who knows.....if it has a name and common mythology.....who's to say it isn't actually real?

But anyway......I think ghost pokemon kinda get a bad rap.....and I try not to give 'em any shit for it....that's all.....

*pause*

It's a wonder, right?

I think that's why I like bug pokemon so much too.....not a lot of people are fond of bugs......but.....I love my buggy friends......and they can kick anyone's ass any day of the week, for sure....

*chuckles*
