I hate posting blog-like posts, because usually, when I am reading someone's fiction or fanfiction, I couldn't care less about what cat they took to the vet today or how many girlfriends dumped them. With that in mind, I didn't and won't post about my own life updates; there's no reason for us to get too personal.
However, today I want to talk to you guys personally, not through chapters or a lore discussion, or even while talking about something related to my writing.
The thing is, as of today, I am making over 500 Euros from this Patreon.
I never expected to get this much, you know? I was aware that some authors did get this amount of support, but I also know that this kind of interest isn't about skill in writing alone. It's about writing in a popular genre, about the popular staples, and usually with a very specific character archetype.
The go-getter with a harem, system, and power-wanking cracked to the max, basically.
This wasn't something I wanted to write, even if there was money in it, and without it, I didn't expect a Patreon to be very popular.
You guys made a fool out of me in that respect. I am writing what I want to write, when I want to write, and somehow, in some fashion, it's enough for you guys to feel that it's worth supporting me. That there is value in what I do.

Thats a very interesting view on it. I mean, I obviously do know, instinctively, that when a setting or a hobby I like gets popular, it turns into shit, but the webnovel example being written out in detail really hits home. Also, thank you for all you've done do far man. The arts and the interactions, shit is fire.

Give me like, two more days to wait for the fallout of the recent chapter (mostly reader interactions) and unclench my cheeks a bit, and I'll be right back at it. As for the RR comments under Chapter 2... my man, that's the best part of RR so far. That, and those same people trying to bomb the reviews. I was sending my friends on discord the reviews and the comments for days to have a hearty kek. There is just something special about people who, unable to grasp a character trying to awkwardly joke, immediately pinpoint my homophobic and very real (their dad works in Nintend, they now) intent, and the righteous crusaded to protect the homos from my corrupting touch, as well as educate me on the subject. Political spectrum aside, this shit is the absolute cinema when you think about it. It also allowed me to better understand what sort of communities hang around on each side by the amount of exploding Soyjacks in the comments. QQ - the biggest amount of demon sympathizers (who never read the canon), and a few who exploded because Albert is, apparantly, a religious fanatic and they can't bear to read more. Most of the community is chill, but those sticking out are colorful indeed. SB - so far nothing, thread is too new. RR - Surprisingly no one detonated over the treatment of demons, or I can't recall many, so IQ checked is passed. However the 'not left enough' detonation did occur, and was powerful, even if it's still just a fraction of the audience. Webnovel - those guys were just happy to read something that isn't a chinese translation. There really isn't a trend to comments, just overall happy buzz of a purring cat.

I am hooked already. You have a rare concept of an MC that isn't just OP"leave me alone I want fuck woman". Getting to know the MC better will be great. Will he prioritise the after death salvation or will he go with more socially involved approach? Will he gain human flaws as he gains his humanity back? How will he interact with factions that think or do things differently? It's when stories gets philosophical through characters and their interactions that you get something amazing. And yes this is my roundabout way of asking for more chapters😅

Because author has several millions views, managed to create a schedule of pumping out consistent slop with all clichés imaginable and has a blind mob following them doesn't mean their work is unique in any way. RR and Web Fiction in general forgot it's original mythos, that is web fiction being inherently niche genre. Just like all popular cultural niches the more it gets popular the more it gets oversaturated, overexploited and overexplored. Eventually remain only two types of web fiction - one is all kinds of wrong type of slop, but has author market it by showing it down your throat. Another one has no clichés, compelling characters and interesting developments. Guess which one is yours?
