Here is a recap of this month's developments.
I wasn't able to finish the Bretonian model this month. Her body sculpt is mostly done apart from small details and clean-up, which I am going to do after retopology.

I implemented a graphics settings menu that is already working and is going to roll out on the next Patreon build. The camera system has been improved to handle transitions better for a more smooth gameplay experience. I am also finishing up implementing a new system to handle melee attacks. This will allow me to add different attacks to distinct enemy types in the future.

Something that has been worrying me a bit since I undertook this project, is the fact that I am not much of a concept artist and that might come back to bite me later. So around a week ago, I decided to study a workflow that mixes 3D and 2D to create designs and illustrations. I've seen it before but never got time to try it out. I learned this workflow from Jama Jurabaev and the specific workflow is his Blender Grease Pencil Techniques.
I started doing some of his Exercises Using 3D shapes to draw 2D on top as you iterate on both.

Most of these are just sketches for studying and they do not fit my plans for the game's style.

This one fits a bit better. Something like this might end up in the game.

A quick sketch to test out what it would be like to draw giantess art this way.
And then the workflow started to get "weird" with the 3D....

A landscape with lines that have real 3D depth.

Dumb sketch with some paralax.
And yesterday the workflow started to clicked:
I started sketching a hoverbike directly in 3d, with no model as a base.

Then, with the help of the 3D lines, I quickly built a simple volume inside to block the back lines.

I got a Mixamo generic woman model, posed her out, and did a quick render in Blender.

And then did a rough paint-over in Photoshop to create a little scene presenting the bike's design.

I am still not much of a designer and have much to learn, but after this learning experience, I am much more confident with working on my games with my own designs.
For next month I still need to finish the Bretonian model so I can start on that Human Engineering MC. With that new melee system, I can start trying to give enemies new moves so they are a bit more fun to fight. Now that I have a better way to work the game's designs I can slowly work out some concepts for stuff like guns, buildings, and what-nots.
PS:
I also bought an Unreal multiplayer course, which I intend to go through slowly. No promises yet.
