Dev Log 35

Once again, I'm happy to report that the last couple of weeks have been very productive - I've completed an additional 350 renders, created a few more of the new characters (there are a lot to make this time!) and finished one of the two big animated scenes that will be in 0.10, comprising 16 animations.
Despite this pretty decent rate, I'm beginning to think the release date is a little further out than I expected, so don't be surprised if it gets pushed to late August! That's later than I would have liked, but I suppose I was being a little optimistic hoping that a double length update wouldn't take double the dev time. Oh well, I think it'll be worth the wait!

Can’t wait but will quality is better than having short or boring updates, great game. Your game gave me some inspiration on the story for my own that I’m currently working on.

That said, you seem to have an unusually level head on your shoulders. Many devs, like Braindrop, end up in this whirlpool of demands from fans leading to unrealistic promises, leading to missed deadlines, leading to hate messages & demands, leading to unrealistic promises, leading to... etc. You've been able to stay impressively above it and focused on making a great game. It's neat.

Quality will always matter more than speed, and long-term speed is more important than reaching the next release at all costs. Take care of yourself. Drink some water. Be mindful of burnout, cause that's the #1 thing that can kill a great game. Don't let the pressure to release make you ignore your own needs or drive you crazy. Your patrons have your back.
