Personally, I dont mind the blue armor part that much. I just wish that there was more red in the costume! For me, if we are talking non-Asian Psylocke, I liked her cape and hood outfit from way back. It was distinct from other mutants who rarely wore capes (well, the good guys anyway). Also makes me wonder why (in this age of representation) did they choose to get rid of an Asian hero. Unless she also still exists as well. I haven't read up on the books.

2019-11-10 13:18:32 +0000 UTCShort version, I get what they were going for with the 'Princess Knight' design (if that isn't a design trope, it should be), particulalry with the success of She-Ra and the Jane Thor, but I don't think it really works. The current superhero aesthetic of lots of extraneous details and fiddly bits really cuts against the concept. It would probably work better as a toy, but as a superheroine design having the same blue for parts that are cloth and for bits that are supposed to be metal really leaves it confused. A good design can survive multiple art styles, but I think this only works in a very cartoonly/"Cal-Arts"/toy-like style. The moment you start filling in details (or give it to a 'realistic' artist) it breaks. Anyway, short of drawing a revamp myself (I'd at the least add some gold for the metallic bits like the pauldrons and maybe a few gold accents or trim to the tunic, and definitely try to make the colour layout less random looking) I should leave it there.

Been in love ever since LOL. Let me ask Jill... do you have any opinions on the new Psylocke Captain Britain redesigns? Not sure about it overall, but I think the psychic Excalibur is a very cool touch.
