Taylor Made - Chapter 9

Armed with Abigail's fashion advice and zero dating experience, Taylor meets Maya for coffee in Harvard Square.

Sorry this late, everyone. I had a stressful week at work that didn't allow for as much creative time as usual. But writing this chapter helped a lot! At least it is a long one at 7,000+ words plus more art than usual! 💕

Oops! Great catch. I have this whole bio written for Abigail, and I forgot that detail about her parents had already been written about. The final version will have that changed! ☺️

Thank you so much, Robert! It's true, I wanted to explore something a little different this time. I like to do that with my illustrated novels. The world is dark enough, you know? Sometimes we need a story about finding the light, even if it's in a complicated, messy way. That dynamic with Abigail is the heart of his social awakening. He's never had to be a friend before, just a son or a student. When he sees her hurting, he has to choose to step outside his own anxiety and be there for her. It's the first time he's really putting someone else's emotional needs before his own fear. And that date with Maya... god, I wanted it to be a gut punch of joy and terror. He's experiencing this incredible connection for the first time, but it's all filtered through this lens of fraud. The euphoria is real, but he feels like he's stealing it, which just makes the guilt so much sharper. I love the "Wouldn't It Be Nice" comparison. Perfect. That song is pure yearning. It's about dreaming of a simple, beautiful future you can't have yet. And Will... yeah he's a whole different kind of challenge. Maya represents this romantic possibility. Will represents a challenge to Taylor's entire understanding of masculinity, friendship, and even himself. Will it mean more? Well, you'll soon see! ☺️

In Chapter 4, on page 10, Abigail talks about her life and “her parents' messy divorce.” Perhaps this part should be changed.

Oh Ms A. What a novelty. That was sweet and charming, such a long way from the darkness that tends to dominate most of your stories. Some wonderful descriptive writing, almost too many quotable lines, Abigail smiling through her own troubles and both showing commendable loyalty and compassion to the other. Then the date itself, just delightful with that unique teenage mix of angst and euphoria, all with the added spice of Taylor’s imposter syndrome. I can’t be the only reader singing the Beach Boys’ immortal Wouldn’t It Be Nice after reading that episode. Now, how does Sunday’s outing with Will compete? Can’t wait!

Didn't have time to read all the episode. Sorry if a say some shits. But basically, what i rapidly reads, is that Taylor is a man dress as a woman who want to finish his school as a trans man and now he is dating a woman in a lesbian relationship... I hope he run fast🤔 Sorry but i have a lot of difficulty to say she for taylor. For me it's still a guy with physical difficulties
