And the sequel or 2nd season is called I Promised You The Moon. Both bring out so many of your emotions it's truly unbelievable. I always recommend it to first time BL watchers.

Here are some of my favs! KOREAN BLS: [Semantic Error] A classic bl with good chemistry between the actors and good to start you off! [Love for Love's Sake] Transported to video game world and romance theme! It released the beginning of last year and instantly became many fans' favorite TRUST its so good and you should definitely watch [The Time of Fever] Long time friends to lovers trope! I don't think many people have seen this one so its underrated but TRUST ME the chemistry is so amazing is PALPABLE and the cinematography is great! [Love in the Big City] This is the most mainstream that mainstream can get in terms of korean bls with a well known actor and a big budget. Its about life as a gay man in Korea with happy and sad moments that make you laugh and cry with the main character. It took me weeks to get over it. It is THAT good. You could watch the movie version as well with different actors and focused on different aspects, but just as good! JAPANESE BLS: [We Best Love S1+S2] I don't think anyone has really mentioned it yet but this one is an easy watch with the cute highschool crush story and has great chemistry between the leads! Its definitely a favorite for me and I think you would really like it too! [Monster] Japanese bl movie (2h) about two little kids and the world around them. I don't think ive seen anyone mention this one but ITS AMAZING YOU LITERALLY HAVE TO WATCH IT and its best to go in blind watching this one but honestly you WILL cry. [Life: Senjou no Bokura (Director's cut)] Another really good japanese bl movie that goes through the life and hardships of two gay people as they grow up. Its happy in the beginning and gets more sad in the latter half. THAI BLS: [Bad Buddy] An iconic thai bl with enemies to lovers trope and great chemistry between the actors! One of my all time favs [I Told Sunset About You] A MUST WATCH classic thai bl that is a cinematic masterpiece with a great storyline. Coming of age and romance themes. Great chemistry [Moonlight Chicken] Talks about the struggles of being gay, growing up, and having disabilities. We love Heart x Liming our favorite side couple! [Kinnporsche] Focused on storyline, cinematic, couple chemistry, and 18+ spicyness [Not Me] About a guy living as his twin brother to find out who hurt him and avenge him, but then he falls for a guy in his gang. You can probably watch the trailer but it doesn't compeletely do it justice because its even better with romantic moments, talks about and celebration of gay pride, and a great second couple as well! [Cutie Pie] An honorable mention; fans either love it or hate it but I personally enjoyed it. Its kind of spicy but not as much as others. Its about an arranged marriage between two guys that were childhood friends. TAIWANESE BLS: [Unknown] Before I get into taiwanese bls disclaimer a lot of them are ironically about the "stepbro help me in stuck" theme if you know what I mean... none of them are actually related for real but it blurs the line between family love and couple relationship love. It doesn't usually get weird weird though. For "Unknown" it has that theme but is pretty different in a sense, personally I really enjoyed it! I believe all the episodes are uploaded on youtube but you could probably find it on some other platform too. [Stay With Me] This one has a stepbro theme and a enemies to lovers trope! Talks about the struggles of children with divorced parents, found family theme, and great chemistry between the two leads. [Your Name Engraved Herein] Growing up as a gay man in a society that doesn't like you, set in the 1980s in a Christian highschool and has themes of homophobia and coming of age. This is a classic and very well known thai bl movie, 18+ REALITY SHOWS: These are NOT bls but gay dating reality shows if you're interested! [His Man S2] The best season of a korean gay dating show that birthed a gay couple we all know and love. You should watch if you haven't already! [The Boyfriend] Japanese gay daying show that became really popular and is on Netflix. Regardless of who became a couple, you should watch even just for the members! They brought so much insight to how it is being gay and dating in Japan and they all have their own stories to share. Its a great watch! There are MANY more but these are just some of the most prominent as of recently/classics!

It's not as lighthearted as many of the other bls that have been recommended but i think it touches on a lot of important subjects. The story in itself is honestly just amazing so it would be awesome if you watched that

2025-03-15 15:48:58 +0000 UTChey so the things i know of that he’s done are; he was under another entertainment company called domundi tv, and him alongside other actors were on the streets harassing women; the other actors have come forward and acknowledged and apologised for it but he has stayed silent on that. he was also found to be following a lot of right-wing people including trump on twitter but he has unfollowed them and he has not addressed these at all. i’m not telling anyone how to feel about him, but i personally won’t want to support a man that has harassed women just for content and also followed people that are against any sort of human right that won’t benefit white men/people especially since he’s poc himself and acting in a queer show

I would recommend you also specify how explicit you want to watch too. I don’t think I would have the face to watch explicit sex scenes in front of a camera haha. Personally, Bad Buddy and Semantic Error are FANTASTIC gateway shows.

SkyNani’s Chemistry is insane and they are seen as one of the biggest “BL” couples under GMMtv even though they played a bromance. Another actor in High school Frenemy is EST (professional swimmer and Thai actor), who also just finished BL series Thame Po, partnering ip with Thai group LYKN’s William (WilliamEst) Another big couple in BL at the moment and brilliant chemistry. Just a thought! (Though I do think you basically have to start with semantic error since it’s like the gateway bl at this point especially from kpop to bl)

That one is a Korean BL! Love in the Big City is so good too! Honestly, there are so many to choose from, but a lot of the ones people have been saying are all good! Love in the big city (amazing korean queer show based on a bestseller, starring nam yoonsu who's a hottie) 3. To My Star 1&2 (korean bl where one of the mains is a celebrity so also fits you) 4. Old fashion cupcake (short jbl about adult man in the work force, inspiring about life) 5. Moonlight chicken (thai bl with hot leads, most importantly very realistic and touches lots on lots of issues, plus very cinematic) 6. I told sunset about you (most cinematic thai bl) 7. Gelboys (by the same director as Itsay so also very cinematic) 8. The eighth sense (also very cinematic indie-esque kbl). There are a lot of fun and hot bls but I'm personally most interested in your reaction to ones that have mature realistic themes, ones that relate to your expertise and those that stand out for their cinematography and acting which is why I recommend these ones! I feel like you wouldn't just enjoy them but have to offer good insight on them

2025-03-15 07:10:12 +0000 UTCOk these I’m considering to be like the highest level of spicy that I will recommend (obviously there’s worse out there but that’s a little odd for a reaction channel). These BL’s involve scenes with like mild nudity and pretty explicit sexual acts being shown. 1. KinnPorsche (Thai): this is considered a very mature BL with themes of sexual violence, BDSM, suicide mention, violence, and drug use. It’s a mafia based story and there are 3 main couples. General synopsis is that Porsche is poor and meets Kinn (mafia heir) one night and basically saves his life and then Kinn offers him a job as a bodyguard which Porsche takes because he is desperate for the money to support his little brother since both his parents are dead. They fall in love, mafia drama ensues, lore about his parent’s deaths come to light and more. The way BLs are created is kind of made to put the couples in the forefront and the plot is very much underlying (like often we’re just watching two people go to university and fall in love) but KinnPorsche is so loved because it has PLOT. Like it’s very interesting and explores so many different themes while also keeping the romance as an important part. 2. Love in the air (Thai): ok honestly I don’t love this show but it is soo popular that I felt I had to include it. I also think the leads have great chemistry. It’s 12 episodes and the first 6 tell the story of one couple and then the 2nd half tells the story of a different couple. It’s very classic naive university boy falls in love with a super hot and attractive slightly older guy type of story with slight other plot points going on as well. 3. My personal weatherman (Japanese): Ok I’m not gonna lie this doesn’t have much plot but is still one of my favorites. I think that the leads chemistry and sexual chemistry genuinely just gives me insane butterfly’s that I’m so hooked in. General synopsis: Mizuki and Yo met and college and basically started having a weird living together friends with benefits kind of situation? Mizuki is a hot weatherman and the breadwinner and Yo is a freelance manga artist and basically does all the housework and sleeps with Mizuki in exchange for Mizuki paying for everything for Yo. This has been going on for years and they’re both in love with each other but there is insane miscommunication so they stay in this weird undefined relationship bubble and the show is just them navigating that Only friends (Thai): lowkey just a group of friends who fuck around with eachother and have their own fucked up pasts and stories that they are trying to navigate while falling in love.

Korean drama (currently airing with only 2 episodes left)- Secret relationships [This has to be one of the best and most dramatic k-bls ever. the main character Da on is played by the K-Pop idol Kim Jun Seo of WEi]

They are, by a LONG way, the best BL series I've ever seen (and I've seen a lot over the past 5 years, trust me, many of which I wish I could unsee). 'Semantic Error' (Korean), 'Tale of a Thousand Stars' (Thai) and 'Moonlight Chicken' (Thai) are good options, too. They all have great stories AND acting, which are the most important factors in my opinion. Must also add 'Light On Me' and 'The Eighth Sense' (both Korean) which others have mentioned. Again, stories and acting are top notch. 'Until We Meet Again' deserves to be included. Loved the story, but it can drag a bit at times and the acting got a bit ropey in places. And 'Bump Up Business' (Korean), which admittedly is not even in the same hemisphere as the ones already mentioned (although it's not as bad as it's made out to be), but it's dear to my heart because it stars all 6 members of the Kpop group OnlyOneOf, and I adore them.

It debatably popularized the BL industry in Korea. The main leads are idols/former idols, Park Seoham-former KNK member and Park Jaechan - DKZ member. It’s your typical university kind of romance but enemies to lovers and is super super cute As for other Korean BLs that feature idols, there’s 1. A shoulder to cry on - starring the leader and maknae of omegaX 2. Roommates of Poongduck 304 - staring Jiwoong of ZB1 Lol 3. Bump up business - stars the entirety of the group OnlyOneOf

2025-03-15 04:56:52 +0000 UTCOMG I’ve been waiting to see if ur going to get into BLs. Bad Buddy is a great iconic intro BL its enemies to friends to lovers. ThamePo is a new icon. It’s about T-Pop industry and the soloist and the documentary guy trying to get his group back together and they also get romantic. They actually cast a real T-pop group Lykn so the music is good too. Perfect 10 Liner is going viral too but it’s 3 couples 8 ep each and u see a variety of storylines so you get some more funny ones some more angsty ones but it all blends into the other. It’s like 24 eps and has a lot of eye candy. Kinnporsche is R18 and a regular guy just protecting his bro and doing anything for his fam and he gets roped into being a mafia bodyguard. There’s a second and third side couple. Also Jeff Satur the singer songwriter whose songs always go viral is one of the mafia brothers. I feel like you reacted to his music. But they really changed the game with how high quality the production was. Also I think you should watch the trailers for the top 3 suggestions to see what’s more your vibe.

Or open to whatever because they’re all quite different lol. Of course Thailand is like the OGs when it comes to BL and they have the largest market for it so the most exist there but it has been growing massively in popularity these recent years in Korea and Japan as well. Korean BL’s tend to be more angsty, fluffy and tame because lgbt is still a bit more taboo there than other places so they’re a little more cautious about what they put out

But if you want something that is recently released I would love to recommend you to “Love in the big city” there’s two version of it the tv series one and the movie, but both have different casting. Tho it might be not something is normally recommend to a beginner, but if you want to watch Bl that is quite unique I would love to recommend these two. These are korean BLs tho.
