The whole point of him going back is to execute the plan B whereas they would try to locate the place where it actually happens. That is why he lost it when he found out that the tracker has been removed from his implanted tooth. Anyway, he's main goal is to stop the game whatever happens so I guess he just did whatever he can while at it. Also, the reason why 001 joined the game and befriended Gi Hun is to make Gi Hun question himself with his decisions. How his actions will make the situation worst for the people in the game. That is why before 001 killed his best friend, he asked Gi Hun if had fun playing the "hero". Killing his best friend in front him is only one of the consequences. In the end, he's the one who chose his best friend to be with him. He's the one who initiated this plan which just created greater chaos.

I'm just glad he decided to do Squid Game coz I thought he would never come back again, but yeah as a fan I'm fine even if he decides to not come back and go on "hiding" as long as he is alive and well :)

I think it's insane how the Korean media and netizens constantly pummel him for this "crime" (which literally did not affect anyone else except for him) even until today. Smoking and drinking is also considered drug abuse in a way, the only difference is that it's not classified as prohibited under the law. The fact that they're just using the law as an excuse to hound the man irks me to no end. There are celebrities who committed serious offenses (such as DUIs or assaults that potentially puts others in danger) but they are still welcomed back to the industry, and yet they just can't give this man a break. It's such a shame since I was looking forward to seeing him in other content again after so many years of hiatus. Still, I'm glad he's healing over the years and trying not to interact with the negativity as much as possible.

First of all thanks Jeff really enjoyed watching it with you. I’m on the same page with you on this season. I think this season did its job on continuing s1 and for storywise it perfectly prepared the audience for s3.

Looove rewatching this with you but I can't stand it every time I see no. 100 (old man with the biggest debt) especially after finding out he's an actual criminal 😭 At least I can just skip his parts now 😂 Edit : I know there are others but his character in the series being too despicable just adds to the discomfort lol

This is going to be long coz I'm crying and thankful about the words you said about TOP's acting. Thanos is really like a parody of TOP. Watching Squid Game as his fan makes it 10x funnier whenever he's on screen. It sometimes just feels like watching TOP, he is like this and even funnier behind the scenes -- even the cursing haha. There's a lot of misinformation online about TOP's scandal. He enlisted in 2017 as a conscripted police officer. A few months later they found out about his marijuana use and got investigated (he admitted to using 4x in 2016). His enlistment as a conscripted police officer got suspended and awaiting the decision about his enlistment, that is when they found him unconscious -- he overdosed on his anti-anxiety medication (which in an interview in 2022 by Prestige magazine, TOP admitted it was a su*c*de attempt). Even in his unconscious state, the media made reports about him which were false. They harassed him in the hospital that his mother (who is never really seen in public eye) had to speak up for her son asking reporters to leave them alone (during this time, YGE was silent and never did anything, which is kind of understandable, but still it was so hard to see his mom crying in front of the reporters BEGGING for them to stop). TOP thankfully gained consciousness after a few days. When he got discharged from the hospital, the media swarmed him again -- there's a lot of videos and pictures of TOP in wheelchair that even content creators are using now for a few clicks which I find sickening. So after that, he was investigated and went to hearings and even then they always criticized him, even the way he looks (like it's not his fault that he looks good). He had a 10-month prison sentence with 2 years suspension (meaning he will be in prison for 10 months if he violates the conditions for the 2 years suspension) -- he was never in jail. Military then deemed he's not fit for conscripted police officer and he then finished his enlistment as a public service worker where he worked at an art gallery/museum. He was discharged July 2019. That day, media waited outside wanting to interview him or what but little did they know, TOP and the fansite had other plans. Fans arranged a secret place where they all waited for TOP. TOP ditched media and went to the secret place instead. There, he shook hands with VIPs and thanked them and gave them handwritten letters. After that, he archived/deleted most of his IG posts (he used to post memes etc on his IG) and would only post once in a while. When the casting was announced, kmedia/knetz were not happy seeing TOP as cast. There were literally hundreds of articles about it, some asking him to be removed from the show or for him to "apologize" for smoking weed 7 years ago (he already apologized multiple times before). Before the release of SG2, the director said something about the casting of TOP. He denied that TOP got in because of Lee Jungjae or Lee Byunghyun (both of them were TOP's friends even before Squid Game). Director said that TOP sent him audition tapes etc and that the role that TOP is going to portray takes a lot of courage. (THAT IS WHEN I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE RELATED TO DRUGS TBH). The backlash went on and TOP decided to opt out of the promotion. Even after SG2 release, they are still harassing him writing negative articles, etc. The whole scandal was so hard to witness reel time. Imagine waking up finding out your fave was found unconscious and in coma. I prayed so hard for him to overcome it and I'm so happy he was given a second chance in life. Honestly, I'm just happy for TOP. His role is a big FU to all of the haters. It's so hard seeing a person whose music helped you cope with your difficulties and saved you from doing the unthinkable being treated like this... THEY SAVED YOU BUT YOU CAN'T SAVE THEM. I'm just glad he's alive and well, and hope that he sees all the positive things instead of the hate... :'(

I think there's a theory floating around suggesting that the moment Gi-hun believed in sacrificing a small number of people for the greater good was the turning point in his life that may foreshadow him becoming the next Front Man. I think that's a very interesting and plausible theory, considering that In-ho (001) essentially joined the games this time to make Gi-hun think that there is no hope for mankind (this was a comment mentioned by the actor Lee Byung-hun himself in an article published by Netflix). Thanks for the videos! This was my first time watching your reaction to a drama series, and it was such a blast! <3 Edit: forgot to mention that during the game Mingle (the one they had to form groups and run into rooms), T.O.P actually danced a short snippet of BIGBANG's "Bang Bang Bang" while the platform was spinning 🤣 needless to say us fans were really happy hahah

rainicity

I actually dont know anything about T.O.P. so thank you @rainicity for the insight to his background!

Comment Reposted from rainicity 'Just commenting as I watch: I'm not sure if you are aware but T.O.P got into a huge "scandal" many years ago because of the use of marijuana, and that led to him making a certain not-so-ideal decision, so personally I'm really thankful that he's still here with us and we get to enjoy seeing him do what he likes now. It's even more impressive that he's willing to take up the role of Thanos, considering that it's basically a caricature of what the media and netizens portray him to be. But honestly I really think the director told him to act like how he usually is - his nickname among fans is "Bingu T.O.P" (aka dumb/stupid) LOL you can actually see him do a lot of weird stuff in concert fancams and in BIGBANG's weekly idol special xD'
