In regard to why Do Jun never replaced his driver, I believe it's because he knew he could trust him (at least, to a certain degree). Ever since the driver switched sides and became loyal to Do Jun, he's never once taken orders from anyone but him. He was the perfect spy for Do Jun as Dong Ki (I believe that's his name; the second uncle) still trusted him until the very end, having had no reason to suspect him. Thus, he was able to feed Dong Ki what appeared to be useful information, which was, in reality, bad intel. An example would be when he gave Dong Ki information about Do Jun's overseas assets and had him invest in tourist-related businesses, only for Dong Ki to lose everything when 9/11 happened. Now, obviously Do Jun was the one who ordered him to do so, because he knew what would happen, but Dong Ki never suspected that the two of them could have formed an alliance. Not to mention the fact that the driver literally took the full force of a truck to protect Do Jun, knowing he could, potentially, have lost his life; if that's not a show of loyalty, I don't know what is. Finally, I think Do Jun sees himself in the driver, as per their conversation a few episodes back (in the car). I think he prefers having someone he knows and that has proven himself to him multiple times by his side, rather than paying to have someone else do it.

The major difference though is that Do Jun was a whole new person in the history/timeline (similar to what you were theorizing early in the show until it showed a different him when he was younger).

2023-03-01 11:25:21 +0000 UTCI'm sure a lot more people would've liked to see that. But I do get why they went this way because the pilot episode's question was to see who tried to kill him. So if it was him as HW, then he wouldn't have found that out had we stayed with him as Do Jun. But ya just weird how Do Jun knew everything that HW knew when they went this way. It doesn't make sense LOL.

As for Do Jun not being held accountable, I think keeping the secret for 20 years definitely warrants a sort of punishment even if in the least community work or one year in jail. He helped cover up a murder for 20 years T_T Even if he did finally confess. So not sure bout what they did being realistic haha.

2023-03-01 03:40:38 +0000 UTCYeah I'm honestly a bit disappointed with the ending, idk it didn't really feel satisfactory to me. I would have loved for him to take Soonyang as Dojun after all the hard work during the power struggle against his uncles/aunts/Seongjun (which is by far the part of the series I enjoyed the most, together with the grandfather). He deserved to win like that and take revenge as a member of the family, but i guess they just had to make it go full circle..? And pushing the romantic realtionship in the end was a stretch too, it just felt forced.

I love your reaction. This prove that, I'm not the only stupid one who break my brain for the movie. For the murder case, maybe because he was not really take part in the case, he was just take an order to deliver something for the scene to be the bait for the murder, in this case, he was also a victim and a witness(Clearly, the did not order to kill/ drive the killer truck of let him know what will happen later ). He just knew who the mastermind without report to the police, if he still keep silent and then the case came out to the light, he may be charge with the crime to cover for the mastermind. But in the end, he reported the truth he knew, that made him innocent. For the shares. I think that after Do Jun died, his shares went to many people, to the Miracle (CEO OH) as the contract between them, a part to his father (maybe this is the reason why his father is now also a member of Soonyang) and his mother. About Do Jun father, he is a real coward. Before Do Jun reincarnated to be his son, he do not have the talent himself, so he did not take part in the succession war. Then, he saw the light from Do Jun and silently let Do Jun fight for him. After his son died, now he has the right to be in Soonyang, he did not think about deeper investigate and turn his brothers and sister to revenge, just until his wife pressure him enough to make him do this. He truly is the son of that greedy family.

I suggest "Misaeng" It's not new but it was a really great drama and his co-star is the grandpa in the Reborn Rich who is a very great actor too! Thank you again for you reactions.

2023-02-28 14:58:41 +0000 UTCFrom the first ep, it was indicated that the fourth son of the chairman had 2 sons, the one that is into music, and the one that got into accident. On the tea scene, they were talking about Jin Do Jun, how he died in an accident, he definitely got killed because as they say "before his annauguration" which means, the original Do Jun was also originally also chosen as the heir. Which made sense since the mom was angry at the fam on the first ep.
