[Reality] Produce 101 S2 - Ep 7 Reaction

Comments

This comment is probably really very very late but i thought you should know that Cube's Seonho was the very first one among the produce 101 trainees to ever win a DAESANG. He won his first modeling DAESANG recognized by Korea's top brands association even before debut thing as a singer with his first mini album. Right now he is still under cube and is an actor. There are rumors that Seonho will be the leader for the newest cube boy group but who knows when will that happen. Cube really made him sign an exclusive artist contract right after pd101 finale then he had more endorsements and brand deals than the w1 members right off the bat lol

The guy you kept commenting about in the "Pop" team (the one who did the flip and practically stripped on stage) is JungJung (Zhu Zhengting or Theo). He was the only one to really actually chose the Dance position and the song. He actually has a background in Traditional Chinese Dance, which is why he's very acrobatic and dances well. Zhengting and Justin actually competed on a Chinese show called "Idol Producer" not long after this show and both ranked very high there. They're both currently active in China as solo singers and in a group called Nex7.

Secretninja312

Woozi wrote the lyrics to downpour alone and also lead the composition, he's so good at making heartbreaking songs lol

Maxine Louise

Can you please react to wanna one go (esp. season 2) after this? It's really fun to watch ❤️

Cindy

There were four trainees rapping to the song. From what I remember that trainee had a controversy so they edited him out of the performance and that why you saw a blur before the performance. It is also the reason why the one guy got 4th place and not 3rd. Seventeen’s woozi helped produce ioi’s downpour and there is a clip of him showing the guide version of the song.

Jim Yang

also, fun fact! haha Park Woojin (1st place in get ugly) used to be a dancer in Busan. He dance battled against Jimin once back in 2012 in a competition in Busan.

Natalie Burger

downpour team is my favorite, their vocal tones compliment eachother very well. I will always remember this performance and always come back to watch it. ha sungwoon has been my 1st pick since day one, I was so happy when he finally gained some recognition lmao. also shape of you team was definately the best dance team, their teamwork and performance were amazing.

Natalie Burger

ya, unfortunately there's no HQ version of this show in any streaming services apparently (like Viki). people assume because of the scandal the franchise is associated with. had to download them off Kshow :(

Can I just say how much I snorted when I saw your disgusted face during Spring Day? I also think they didn't match the vibe well when I first saw it. Spring Day has a wistful, melancholic vibe and their version was just too innocent. The word you are looking for with the guitar/piano scenario is "ensemble skills". I'm a classicaly trained violinist and we spend hours upon hours training how to play together. We might individually sound great, but together we sound like shit 😂 Also, what's with the vocalists need to always sing high? I would much rather listen to a male singing more comfortably and lower than hear someone strain to reach a note that I can't even reach as a female 😂

Svenja Ebert

fun fact: woo jinyoung (pink hair rap guy) made his solo debut few days ago! although he's also ina group called d1ce

starspal

Like someone mentioned, the Shape Of You team deserved first place if you ask me. You actually liked the performance when you were watching it ☺️ I just think you don’t remember it, you should rewatch it! 😬

Thao Pham

Gunhee is from ONEUS but he's not one of the twins but he and Dongmyeong (ONEWE) look alike. The twins are Dongmyeong and Xion (ONEUS). Xion didn't participate here. 😊

AUREA LOIS

Brittany spears actually used to sing songs from whitney Houston but the label made her sing in the way we heard in her song which destroyed her actual voice that she used to have

Don't call me.

So sad cause I can tell the audio is not as good as the original ones.. think also these stages are uploaded on mnet youtube

For Yoo Seonho's case, he did debuted as a solo artist but he only did released one album and he is very active as an actor right now. His latest drama is called Undercover where he played the role of the main character's son and he has a mental disorder. It is great to see Seonho taking up such different roles compare to his usual goofy and funny classmate characters he always portrayed before this drama.

arianaisventi

The confusion after the I'm Not The Person You Used To Know performance lol... MNET is really good at editing people out. There was almost no trace of their phantom 1st place member.

Exekyute (Kyu)

Omg the timing of this - I'm in my Pledis family feels after yesterday's MMTG episode with After School's reunion and Seungkwan, so seeing Kahi in this episode, my boys Nu'est, and hearing IOI's Downpour which was actually composed by Woozi is really hitting me hard lol. Just missing Pristin references in this episode for me to full-out be emotional haha

Finally Jeff was waiting for you to resume on Produce season 2 as good as Kingdom was i was secretly wishing it to end sooner lol. Just some FYI facts on this episode if I may share probably been mentioned by other commenters The I.O.I song downpour is composed by Seventeen’s Woozi and The Rap Team with three members was edited rewatch it again and you will see short glimpses of another person as it was actually performed by 4 members the other member Minho who was in the previous episodes had problems with their mentors not allowing him or other rappers to make rap when they are in a vocal position was cut out on this since he was involved in a very serious issue sexual harrassment i believe correct me if im wrong he actually finished 1st on that team lol if it wasnt for the blast from the past he made. Anyways I cant wait for ur reaction on their next task the concept evaluation legendary songs and performances 👊🏽

Ival Belarmino

I'm aware that you don't want any spoilers and you don't know who's gonna make it into Wanna One, so I won't say anything revealing, but some of the members were in the same groups here and I was so moved while seeing them together on the stage after years without Wanna One that I cried 😭❤️ And about voting. The audience can vote for multiple trainees, but some people don't want to vote for "rivals" of their favorites, even if they are amazing. So even if Samuel did great, I guess people didn't want to boost his ranking, so they just didn't vote - and only vote for their favorite one from this team. Personally, I would probably vote for every single one of the trainees, if I was there lol

Paulina K.

Goddammit we escaped one hell just to come back to another lol "Get ugly" forever remains iconic and sits at the same table as "Bang Bang" from s1. Thank u, Jeff!

Alex Lee

Hi Jeff, are you going to react to kingdom’s performance dance practice?

Lynossa

Btw Jaehwan (Downpour main vocal that you loved) is the other guy on Mental Camp. It was Wooseok, Jinhyuk, Sewoon and Jaehwan.

sleepyfox

the sister of the director in she would never know is definitely not BoA😂 you might see them as similar-looking but no, she is not her! Btw if you don't remember Noh Taehyun's (the guy who got overall 1st for dance) group's performance for Shape Of You, you should definitely watch it again. It's my favorite dance performance out of this battle, I even like it better than Get Ugly but Get Ugly is also good!! It's a close 2nd for me. And yes Downpour killed it!!! The guy who beat Sungwoon and got 2nd in that is Minhyun. He's a NU'EST member! I also like If It Is You (from the last ep), their vocals and emotions are reaaally good too. Oh and also!!! I forgot to mention this but Kahi (one of the dance trainers here) got viral these days on stan twt for her 2nd gen group (After School)'s reunion performance on MMTG. You should check it out on YouTube :D

- Kim Jaehwan, main vocalist in IOI Downpour team is the same main vocalist from the Super Junior 'Sorry Sorry' team if you could still remember. Also the same guy who sang 'Skyfall' in the auditions while playing guitar too. - Ha Sungwoon is friends with Taemin, Kai, Jimin, Ravi, and Timoteo. "Padding Squad". (but I think you already know this? I'm not sure) -He's also the one who sang the OST 'Fall in You' for the drama True Beauty. ☺️ -The guy in orange from NSync 'Pop' group that you like is Jungjung (Zhu Zhengting) and he's actually a dancer so that's why he's really good. Mnet just forgot to mentioned it. - All songs performed by the dance teams were actually recorded/sang by the members themselves. - about Samuel for NCT Hollywood, that's actually the first time I heard it. But woah, that would be nice! If that really happened and he really auditioned for it, I would totally support it! I know he loves NCT too. He mentioned it before. He's a Fan. 💚 I'm sorry I commented a lot. This is how much I waited for this reaction. Thank you so much! Worth the wait! ❤

eve_ss

the guy in the red hair from get ugly team is actually the main dancer of Ab6ix Woojin. You already reacted to Ab6ix Woong's mv I hope you could also react to some of their mvs. They have a pretty solid discography and they compose and choreograph their own songs

Beggar Yuchan

yay it's back! a few comments about this ep at the very first performance, when they were stuck between choosing woojin or the other dude (sorry) for main vocalist, I was like OMG PICK KENTA because I know how good of a vocalist he is HAHA I dun wanna spoil but this is also my first time watching this show, I never expect hyunbin to have this kind of "handsome but not hardworking" & "I don't really have a position" kind of image, because the hyunbin I know now is a great rapper people like yoon jisung, sanggyun as well, it's interesting for me to stan these trainees after wanna one disbands to watch this show for the first time because I know who they are in the present and not how they were like pre-debut also I get very emotional every time samuel appears, he was seventeen's lil baby maknae pre-debut, we have plenty of wholesome clips of 14 yr old samuel having fun with all his seventeen hyungs to seeing him here I cant take it TT also yeah don't pay too much mind on the rankings cause every show mnet makes is rigged ;)

onyx.

On the 'Get Ugly' team, from what I remembered, another reason why they got lesser votes than expected was because most of the live audience already left the venue when they performed. Since they were the last performers, most of the live audience needed to go home already and also since some or most of them were minors too so yeah that as well. Mnet received a lot of complaints that time actually. Since they knew that this group was the most anticipated one, they really stretched it out and that they had to perform very late. Which was very unfortunate because for me this team deserved better. Mnet's greed became their disadvantage. Oh and about the why popular members who got lower votes too, yes I agree with you as well. and also, I feel like it's also a strategic move for the fans of those trainees in lower ranks to not vote for these popular members so their faves could go higher. Because I believe the audience here can either vote or not vote all (but for some I think they voted for those who's not a threat to their fave. that kind of strategy too).

eve_ss

Yep. I think his scandal was about him sending little naughty messages yo his minor fans

roel valgomera

Regarding the RAP performance, there's actually 4 members there not 3. HA MINHO got edited out because he was kicked out from the show before this episode was aired due to a scandal. I forgot exactly why. (he's the guy in earlier episodes who kind of complained why rappers were evaluated in singing, but vocalists can't be evaluated in rapping). Apparently some of the big reactions from the audience and the trainees were actually because of him. He really did great and that's why he got 1st place. (I heard he dissed Mnet on his rap there too. 😂). But yeah, unfortunately he got edited out. Mnet's really good at it I must say.

eve_ss

omg i didn't think you would upload it this week, i thought you'll only start continuing PD101 next week! but thank you so much it was a nice surprise!!
