Hi guys! So my Vimeo Plus+ has limited remaining storage space because of the unexpected SuperM '100' blockage conundrum (ughhh), so I had to decrease the quality of this a bit to fit it in and have it out this weekend. It's good- just not as crisp when viewed on desktop fullscreen. Vimeo resets on the 18th, so I will upload the HQ version then. Thanks guys and have a great weekend! I'm off to go camping with family in an isolated area outside the city :)

Edit: The HQ version is now uploaded!  :)

"Hit The Stage" Ep 8 Full Reaction

I think the same if Rie Hata wasn’t part of the performance Feeldog would have won, I think that’s a bit unfair because U-kwon had advantage because of her, even though he also danced really good. But despite that Feeldog had a pretty high score it was really close (again). What annoyed me the most was Seyongs score, it was too low in my opinion.

Btw i have an recommendation when you are finished with Hit the Stage, it´s called The Unit an "Idol Rebooting Show", Feeldog is in there too, Seyong as well , also an Eujin i really loved their perfomances!

Ah I'm finally watching this and your reaction to Seyong's placement was exactly the same as mine. It's insane, I think Seyong was amazing, the performance was innovative, and it was so super impressive for only having had 3 days to practice (+ the fact that they were hamstrung by the time/country differences). I love Nicole and her performance was so different from her Kara image, but I wanted Seyong to win that. I only knew Myname very casually (their Baby I'm Sorry MV is usually brought up for 'drama/plot' based MVs, it's amazing) but this is making me want to go back and retrospectively give them more love. This show already made me fall in love with Feeldog and Bigstar and now I guess I'll just have to like Seyong and Myname too. Also, I'm sure there are other idol B-boyers but I can only think of Kang Daniel (Wanna One) and Ju Haknyeon (The Boyz) at the moment [maybe GOT7's JB too? I could be wrong]. I think it's very interesting to see this being performed, always so cool to see these tricks.

Sorry for this long comment😂😂 Even tho Feeldog was my 2nd favorite performance after hyunseung I put him 1st place. The choreo was just insane 🤯. The musicality was top tier👏🏾. 2nd place was hyunseung for me but he was my favorite performance. His performance just sucks you in. The song, the overall mood, the makeup/costume. He did his part extremely well. He didn’t need all these unnecessary tricks and flips to wow me. He stayed simply yet captivating, small yet hitting. 🔥 3rd place for me was U-kwon, they were laid back but still had enough hard hitting moves. i will say the beginning of the performance (1st song) was the best part for me. It kind of fell of after the first song. u-kwon was a bit stiff for me. Then 4th place I would put Seyong crew. At first I didn’t like the random music switches but after his wings got ripped and the music switched to a more chaotic song and u said he then became crazy everything connected for my small brain😂 and those turns and tosses he did while the other guy was holding him were just everything.

U-Kwon is the idol I'm the biggest fan of out of the ones performing this round, but although I liked his performance(s) they was never my favorite. He is good, but not the best in this competition. In my opinion. For this round Seyong was my favorite, with Feeldog on a close second 😉 It would be great if Jeff could watch some of Myname and Big Star's dances/mv's somewhere down the line. Myname is one of my favorite groups, but their Japanese songs is honestly overal better than their Korean ones... And I was a fan of Big Star as well. Miss them....

i'm glad we have a similar opinion on this episode haha. it was definitely rie hata's performance and there's no way they would not let her win. when i watched it for the first time i didn't know anything about her and i'm not a big fan of this style so i wasn't very impressed. even now i don't think it was the strongest performance and i like feeldog's the most for the execution, structure and ~concept~. judging by the audience's cheers and screaming i'm not the only one. also u-kwon's attitude kinda bothers me, in the beginning he said he wanted to show himself as a dancer but he either relies on acting or deliberately gives the spotlight to a worldwide celebrity.

I like what you did with the split screen! It's really easy to keep an eye on you while watching the actual perfomance, espacially because I am watching on my mobile. Personally, I liked Feeldogs perfomance better. Like you said, it resonated more with me than the winner. Did you notice at around 1:10:30 that the teacher dropped dead in the background on high stage? I didn't like how they showcased it. I only noticed it because I have watched Feeldogs performance multiple times.

and yeah I think maybe U-Kwon should have done it without Rie Hata as the difference in level when they danced side by side was so big. But then again I think the hype around Rie Hata also helped to get the audience voting for him so...I still think it was Rie Hata who won this episode, not U-Kwon though (;´・ω・). Edit: was interesting how you mentioned you thought someone like Feeldog might pull off the "lit" style choreo that Rie Hata made. I think he does do some of it in his own work, like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7n11upSGSsY which he taught in a dance studio. It's not exactly the same but has similar elements?

I think there are many idol groups who have limited success in Korea, and what the company does is to try and move the focus to Japan, where they promote and manage to get some success. For the groups, it can feel a bit sad because Korea is their home market, and while success overseas is great, they do want to be on TV at home etc.

My favortie this time was Feeldog, by far. I felt so bad for him loosing. Just like you said about U-Kown, the comparison between him and Rie Hata was too obvious so I was pretty critical of that stage. I think not just the staging, but their outfits as well, with both in yellow made it so you couldn't help compare the two and he was clearly not as good.

PositiveThinking

when you react to Dancing High you will see a lot of familiar faces.

Have a nice time camping Jeff 😉 I’ll watch the hd version later on I think. I’m currently in the middle of nowhere too with VERY faulty connection so I don’t think I’d enjoy watching everything in 5 min bites anyways😂. Can’t wait to watch the SuperM concert when I get home!

LisMM

My Ranks were Feeldog Hyunsung Seyong U-Kwon (... Rie Hata more than U-Kwon)

Enjoy your family time, jeff!!
