Here's a little concept art for Book 2 of No North - Crossroads!
I got a bit carried away with designing cloaks for Steban and Delilah and I must clarify that they won't be wearing cloaks at the same time - as much as it would have been epic - or at least not yet xD
But yeah... They'll both wear cloaks in Book 2!
This looks like an old romance movie poster now. But it was such a great way to keep practicing for the comic's new style!

I can't wait to see that! 😁 I love the aesthetics of this piece, with the sky and the rain and the moody, dramatic tone it evokes! You're right, it does kinda look like a movie poster! 😄 Might not have been intentional, but the result looks really good! These cloaks are an awesome concept, and Steban and Delilah wear them very well! 👍 Some new Skailla art, fresh out of the oven, always makes the day a little bit better! And two of my favorite characters in the story on top of that! 💖 Thanks, as always, for sharing this with us Skailla. I hope you're having a wonderful day and week so far!

Delilah and Steban look so cool in cloaks- cloaks, capes, and capelets have always been such a fascinating character design/clothing choice in my eyes, and they’re not used a whole lot. But you made them look so good, as well as The Bull King’s cape that looks just epic. I cannot wait for book 2, as well as seeing them in cloaks in-comic, it makes me so excited, plus very curious as to why they’ll wear them. This art looks just beautiful, and it does look like a poster, too- maybe when book 2 starts you could make a more detailed version and sell autographed versions of it like some authors do!! I love Steban and Delilah’s expressions and also the fact that you gave them different kinds of cloaks, they each feel very specific and special to their character! Like how Delilah’s is dark blue and fastened with a gorgeous tie, whilst Steban’s is black and has that kind of ‘trench coat’ buttons set on it! The semi-stormy background also reminds me of the background of a No Northvember piece you did, Storm, which just further hints at the events of book 2 and also what happened in the past. And with Steban running at the bottom, it’s just done so well, the flow of the cloak and the color just blends together so good! It reminds me a lot of when he was running in Shut Eye, plus hints at how he runs away from his troubles and that he’ll be doing (and has done!) a lot of running in the story, he isn’t exactly welcome anywhere, is he? The lighting is magnificent, too, there’s so many beautiful and interesting things about this. You never cease to amaze me with your awesome ideas and character concept and design choices!! I cannot wait for book 2, this looks epic!!
