Tales of the Jedi - The Ahsoka Tano Episodes (#1, 5 & 6) - FULL REACTION

Oh and if you don't have the novelisation of Revenge of the Sith in your life, amend that the first chance you get. Might not sound an obvious choice but it's probably too five of all the books I've read in these past two years. It's INCREDIBLE (audiobook just as good & ADDS to it with the score & music at times) & has extra portions that add to the film itself. And I have to recommend The High Republic era too cos it's the first I've got in on the ground floor with, has all new characters in new era hundreds of years before the prequels & (whisper it) unlike some of the latter films, the group of authors/story group - Project Luminous - work together so it's SUPER tight & cohesive across tons of material). I've collected and loved it ALL and am up to speed with it. I'd recommend it to any SW fan.

If you wanna stay canon I'd recommend Master &; Apprentice, Dooku: Jedi Lost and Dark Disciple (all have excellent audiobooks - DJL is a full cast like the original radio play style) cos they focus on Qui-Gon and Obi, Dooku, Yoda & Syfo Dias & Quinlan Vos & Ventress, all of whom will be characters you know well. These books really flesh out the stories for all of these. As for legends you kinda have to (by law) start with the og Thrawn trilogy which has sublime anniversary editions revoiced by Marc Thompson (who's kinda the godfather of SW audiobooks right now), then the Bane trilogy, Kenobi (so so so so so good) & then either do what I did - go mad and decide to do it all chronologically - or choose an era you wanna delve into. The old Republic has some FANTASTIC stuff but then so does TCW era, og era, post og era and on and on... 🤣 As you might be able to tell, when I fell down the rabbit hole I fell *deep*!

That's my biggest fear, Paul - the novels (I'm doing the audiobooks) are such a HUGE rabbit hole to fall down. :) I noticed the changes from the novel - nothing too major, and I prefer the Ahsoka/Organa meeting from the novel, but I get why they did it this way to fit things into a 15 minute short. It doesn't bother me, but it does muddy the 'what's canon?' waters. I'm working my way through the Thrawn books now (on Treason right now, and the Ascendancy trilogy's up next), but do you have any recommendations after that?

great to hear you're getting into the books Neil! i've spent the past 22months since Jan 1 2021 going first through legends (all short stories, comics & novels - & tv & movies) & then canon (i'm up to Shadow of the Sith so far) & have read 200+ SW novels in that time (out of 2800 ish different SW pieces of media... :D ) & have loved almost ALL of them. there's just SO MUCH brilliant stuff. two excellent choices to start with too btw. did you audiobook them or read? & some ppl are pissed about the (mild yet similar to Bad Batch & the Kanan comics, it bugs people) Filoni-retcon of the Ahsoka book too, so that might crop up in the YT comments...

looking forward to the Dooku eps. loved these too. it's Ahsoka, how could one not?
