Console Commands I use

If you are fond of testing as I am these commands might be of use to you. To make them work you need to type "sv_cheats 1" into the console first.

  •  dota_show_object_obstructions 1 - shows trees on the map grid as green tiles
  • dota_show_nav_obstructions 1 - shows objects as obstacles (yellow tiles) and units (blue dots) as well as their changing positions

Infinite Refresher (Good Juju Bug)

With Aghanim's Dazzle can refresh all allies' items (or own items). During the disassemble time you can click on the Good Juju and instantly disassemble Aghanim's Scepter - Dazzle will go towards the hero and refresh their items. The ability won't go on cooldown. You can repeat that as many times as you want and then sell the item for the full price (4200) afterwards.

Seed Shot vs Spell Immune Units

Warpine Raiders' spell "Seed Shot" can be used on spell immune units (BKB, Naix's Rage). It does nothing, but you are able to click on a target under BKB effect and the shots will bounce off the target even if other targets are also under BKB. Again, there will be no damage nor slow from the spell but it's still a neat detail.

Combat Log Abuse


Valve added the hotkey to open the Combat Log (that was actually my suggestion posted on Reddit among with half a dozen more that were implemented into the game).


Tl;dr: the Combat Log doesn't care if the target is invisible or smoked. If they were affected by any sort of debuff or damaged the event will be displayed in the log.  Perfect when you have an AoE damaging spell as Clockwerk's rocket or Ember's ultimate with the Shard. Neat Penitence Abuse

Penitence works when you issue an attack command not when the attack projectile lands. It means that if an ally is a ranged unit they can abuse the skill by rightclicking the debuffed enemy and switching to the desired target with refreshed buff.

How to Spread Units Easily

This is one of those many tricks I share that 99% of pro players don't know exists. The trick can also be used by Nature's Prophet players.

The whole concept is relevant if you are running away and want to split the creeps to avoid feeding the whole pack (or in the NP case you want to block a lot of enemy camps).

Infinite Drum of Endurance Charges Bug/Abuse

This is not stated in the patchnotes! Since 7.31 you can no longer replenish Drum charges (they make you upgrade it into Boots of Bearing). But there is one abuse or bug one might say.

Use all Drum charges and buy Boots of Bearing.  Then disassemble within 10 seconds window. Now you have Tranquil Boots, Boots of Bearing recipe and Drums with 8 charges. You can do it inifinite amount of times.
Note that if you use Boots of Bearing you won't have a disassemble button. View Post

Mana Replenishing Items in Comparison /w Satyr Mindstealer (as of 7.31b updated)

Updated the previous post to 7.31b values. Didn't take into account small stats items like a Branch or a Robe.
Items go from smallest mana per minute to largest. The second column indicates how much gold is worth 1 MP, the third - how much MP can be bought for 1 gold. This is neat to find the best item for mana regen.

Neutral Creeps (Updated as of 7.31b)

What's new:

  • Added all new values ​: basically, the creeps now hit faster, have more armor, have less attack damage  (but the attack damage type compensates that). Creeps are also now more resilent to AS slows. Both gold and experience bounties are also changed - I will post a graph about that later.

Real AoE of "Ogre Smash!" (Ogre Bruiser)

"Ogre Smash!" stated AoE is 200 but in reality it's actually 400 due to the nature of the damage outcome. The skill comes from the center in front of the Ogre, not from the Ogre's position as happens with most of the skills.

Icefire Bombs (New Ancient Ability) Increases the Duration for Every Stack

It works the same as Ogre's Ignite - the more stacks you have - the more their durations are. The first effect lasts 8 seconds, three stacks make it to 24 seconds. In terms of damage it's 300 damage within 24 seconds to the tower. The creep is shit and the damage is ludicrous but if you managed to take 2-3 of said creeps - you don't need to wait for Icefire Bomb effect to wear off to apply the new one - just throw all the spells and retreat.

Neutral Creeps New AS/BAT Explanation in 7.31

In 7.31 Valve changed starting attack speed and base attack time of neutral creeps. The starting attack speed was used to be 100 (mostly) and they doubled the amount to 200. Prospector Aura (Kobold) works on creep-heroes which doubles (Lone Druid + Bear) or triples (Visage + Familiars) the gold from the aura

Infinite Ward Unit (Harpy Abuse)

Hill Troll Priest Efficient Convertion Lifehack

When you just persuade the Hill Troll Priest (aggring all neutrals beforehand) you are to set "Heal" on autocast and hold rightclick without releasing it. Non-standard Usage of the Kobold
